Baoquocte.vn. On the evening of September 28, the Hanoi Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee held the 7th Press Award for Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians in 2024 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site (Hanoi).

This is an important event in the series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said: Thang Long - Hanoi is a "spiritual land of talented people", a place where "the soul of mountains and rivers for thousands of years has settled", connecting the historical sources and quintessence of the Vietnamese people, a place where patriotism, love of peace, solidarity and aspiration for advancement converge and shine, a place where the country's talented people are born and gathered. Traditional cultural values in historical periods together with values in the Ho Chi Minh era have been, are and will be the foundation, the driving force, and a valuable resource in building and developing the Capital today and in the future.
The 13th National Party Congress clearly stated: “Developing comprehensive human beings and building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity so that Vietnamese culture and people truly become an endogenous strength, a driving force for national development and national defense. Increasing investment in developing cultural careers”.
Resolution 15-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing the Capital has determined: “Focus on developing the Capital’s culture worthy of the thousand-year tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi; build Hanoi into a true center of convergence, crystallization of the culture of the whole country, becoming a new development resource for the Capital. Build Hanoi people to be gallant, elegant, loyal, civilized, representing the culture, conscience and dignity of the Vietnamese people”.
Thoroughly and deeply understanding the position, role and importance of culture, Hanoi City always pays special attention to the work of building people and developing culture, considering culture and people as the driving force, one of the important resources, deciding the rapid and sustainable development of the Capital. During the terms, the City Party Committee has issued many policies on cultural development, building elegant and civilized Hanoians to develop the Capital's culture worthy of the thousand-year tradition of Thang Long - Hanoi.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong emphasized that in order to promote the role of the press and media in building and developing culture, spreading the good cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi with a thousand years of civilization, from 2018 to now, the Hanoi Party Committee has organized the Press Award on cultural development and building elegant and civilized Hanoians. This is an event organized annually by Hanoi City, attracting the attention and response of many reporters and press agencies from the Central, local and Hanoi.
Notably, this year’s competition has the participation of 4 press agencies from the provinces: Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Quang Ngai. The entries explore some new aspects of the culture and people of Hanoi, the preservation and conservation of Muong ethnic culture in Hanoi, the feelings and temperament of Hanoi people in the Northwest, on the historic land of Dien Bien...
The 7th time the Press Award on Cultural Development and Building Elegant and Civilized Hanoians in 2024 continues to receive the attention and direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. The organization of the award was carried out professionally, scientifically and effectively, attracting the participation of many reporters and press agencies.
The Organizing Committee received 345 works from 48 press agencies and units, including 7 press agencies of Hanoi, 41 units and press agencies of the Central, ministries, branches and localities; an increase of 9 units and press agencies and 53 works compared to 2023. This is also the year with the largest number of press works and press agencies and units participating in the award ever.

According to the Organizing Committee, 2024 is a special year, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024); this is also the year with the largest number of press works and the largest number of central press agencies participating in the award ever. Notably, this year's award has the participation of 4 press agencies from the provinces: Hoa Binh, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Quang Ngai.
The entries explore a number of new aspects of the culture and people of Hanoi, the preservation and conservation of the Muong ethnic culture in Hanoi, the feelings and temperament of Hanoians in the Northwest, on the historic land of Dien Bien, etc. with many high-quality entries. This shows that the spread of the award is increasingly strong and the spirit of “Hanoi with the whole country, the whole country with Hanoi” is enhanced.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, many press works were carefully prepared, closely following reality, accurately and promptly reflecting issues in cultural development, building elegant and civilized Hanoians, creating a positive ripple effect in society. That demonstrates the serious, creative and responsible working spirit of journalists and press agencies in the face of issues arising in the current cultural development of Hanoi Capital.

The Preliminary Council organized the judging and introduced 80 works to the Final round (including 24 print works, 35 electronic works, 21 radio and television works).
Specifically, the Final Council unanimously selected 34 best press works to award prizes (including 1 Special prize, 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 10 C prizes and 15 Encouragement prizes).
The Special Prize was awarded to the work "Imprints of the Capital's Cultural Industry" by the group of authors from the News Department - Vietnam Television.
3 A prizes were awarded to the works: "Creating identification codes for "Hanoi people" by the group of authors Tran Hong Van, Hoang Le Quyen, Doan Anh Tuan, Vu Ngoc Ha of Hanoi Moi Newspaper; "Reviving and building an advanced culture with strong national identity" by the group of authors of Kinh te & Do thi Newspaper; "Hanoi strives to build a creative city" by the group of authors of Hanoi Radio - Television Station .
