VHO - The craft of making bamboo and coconut houses in Cam Thanh (Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province) was awarded a certificate of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

On the evening of September 27, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the uprising to liberate Cam Thanh commune (1964-2024), representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province awarded the certificate of national intangible cultural heritage "The craft of making bamboo and coconut houses in Cam Thanh" to representatives of the leaders of Cam Thanh commune.

Previously, on February 21, 2024, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 380 to include "The craft of making bamboo and coconut houses in Cam Thanh" in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

On this occasion, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Nam also awarded a certificate of recognition for meeting the criteria of traditional occupations according to the provisions of Decision No. 43 dated December 30, 2022 of the Provincial People's Committee for Cam Thanh bamboo and coconut craft.

The craft of making bamboo and coconut houses in Cam Thanh originates from the natural living environment of residents living along the river mouth surrounding the coconut and bamboo forests.
