On April 4, Major General Tran Duc Tai, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, chaired the ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision and award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to the relatives of martyr Nguyen Pham Thanh Nhan - former officer of the Traffic Police Team, Hoc Mon District Police.

He died on January 2, 2020 while performing patrol and control duties to ensure security and order in the area.

To promptly recognize and encourage the martyrs' families, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the City Police Department directed the urgent completion of the dossier and report to the Ministry of Public Security, which was signed by the Prime Minister to grant the Certificate of National Merit.

The ceremony took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere, right at the time when the whole country is looking forward to the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Previously, on the night of December 31, 2019, Lieutenant Nguyen Pham Thanh Nhan and a number of officers from Task Force 363, Hoc Mon District Police, conducted a patrol to handle violations according to the assigned plan. At this time, the task force received a report that a group of young people were gathering to drive and disturb public order on National Highway 22, so they immediately arrived at the scene.

When arriving at Song Hanh - National Highway 22, the Task Force discovered a group of young men driving 8-10 motorbikes in a group at high speed, revving their engines, causing disorder. The Task Force signaled for the vehicles to stop for inspection and handling, but some of the subjects turned around and ran away.

Among them, two subjects were riding motorbikes towards the working group at high speed. One vehicle passed the working group and even hit Lieutenant Nguyen Pham Thanh Nhan, causing him to fall unconscious on the road. The subject then abandoned the motorbike and left the scene.

Since comrade Nhan sacrificed his life, his wife has been a housewife, helping her parents with their business and taking care of their child, with an unstable income. Now the child has acute lymphoblastic leukemia, requiring long-term treatment with huge costs...
