Awarding the 'Fatherland's Gratitude' certificate to relatives of martyrs

(PLVN) - On the afternoon of April 15, in Trung Nam commune (Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province), the Military Region 4 Command coordinated with the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command, Vinh Linh District Military Command and local authorities to organize a ceremony to award the "Fatherland's Gratitude" certificate to the relatives of 4 martyrs who were children of Vinh Linh hometown and heroically sacrificed their lives in the struggle for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland.

According to Decision No. 437/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, the "Fatherland's Gratitude" certificate was awarded to relatives of martyrs: Nguyen Su Suong, Hoang Dong, Tran Xuyen and Nguyen Xuan Hoa, all from Vinh Linh district.

Specifically, Martyr Nguyen Su Suong (born in 1916) died in November 1945 on the Southern battlefield, as a soldier of Thien Thuat Squad; Martyr Hoang Dong (born in 1921) died in September 1947 in Vinh Nam (old), as deputy squad leader of Regiment 95, Binh Tri Thien Sub-region; Martyr Tran Xuyen (born in 1924) died in February 1951 on the Dien Bien Phu front, as platoon leader of Division 304; Martyr Nguyen Xuan Hoa (born in 1932) died in April 1950 in Vinh Nam (old) while on duty in Unit 354.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the District Military Command and leaders of Trung Nam commune affirmed that the awarding of the Certificate is a recognition of the Party, State and People for the merits of the martyrs. The sacrifice of the heroes has written a glorious history, embellishing the indomitable tradition of the nation and homeland of Vinh Linh. This is also an opportunity to continue spreading the tradition of "Repaying gratitude", taking better care of the lives of families with meritorious services.
