On the morning of July 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism coordinated with the City Industrial Product Design and Modeling Association and the City Handicraft and Wood Processing Association to summarize and award the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Souvenir Gift Design Contest.
The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Souvenir Design Contest was launched on May 17, 2022 and will accept entries until April 30, 2023 domestically and internationally. The Organizing Committee has received more than 120 entries from individual and collective authors with diverse participants such as university students, amateur and professional designers, and souvenir production and trading establishments. Participating products include many different categories such as: Lacquer, handicrafts, traditional and environmentally friendly materials.

According to the judges, the entries were of consistent quality, closely following the contest rules regarding the characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City. Through the preliminary, semi-final and final rounds, the organizers and judges of the contest selected 25 outstanding products to award prizes.
In the category of “Conference Gifts”, the first prize worth 80 million VND went to the product “3D gold-plated architectural greeting card” of Tayta Smart Handicrafts Co., Ltd. The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 5 consolation prizes.
In the “Souvenir Gift” category, the first prize worth 80 million VND went to the product “Bamboo Coffee Filter” by author Nguyen Huynh Nam. The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 14 consolation prizes.
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said: The contest has contributed to finding souvenir designs that reflect the unique characteristics and identity of Ho Chi Minh City and create products with new designs and high applicability. Thereby helping businesses and souvenir production facilities diversify product designs, meeting the gift requirements of domestic and international tourists. Through the contest, it contributes to attracting tourists and promoting destinations to Ho Chi Minh City with many vivid experiences.
