The scholarship is sponsored by the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development through its Phu Nhuan branch in Ho Chi Minh City (Agribank Phu Nhuan).
The students who received the scholarships were from disadvantaged backgrounds and all had good academic performance and a strong will to succeed. Many of them were very happy because they would have bicycles to ride to school by themselves.
At the ceremony, hundreds of parents, students and teachers were deeply moved by the family circumstances of Tran Ha Duc Trung, class 5C, Mac Thi Buoi Primary School and H'Su Duyn Byă, class 9a4 student, Hoang Van Thu Secondary School, both in Ea Kiet commune, Cu M'gar district, Dak Lak province.

His parents divorced, Trung lived with his grandparents who were over 70 years old since he was young. His grandfather had a stroke and had to amputate his leg, so he could no longer take care of himself. His grandmother, who was old and frail, took him to school whenever she could.
H'Su Duyn Byă's family situation is also very difficult because of the small amount of land. Having a bicycle will make it easier for her to go to school far away, and her journey to learn will be less difficult. Despite the difficulties, both of them dream of becoming teachers. Trung wants to be a soccer teacher, and H'Su Duyn Byă wants to be a music teacher.
At this ceremony, many students and parents said they were very happy and pleased to have the support of Tuoi Tre newspaper and Agribank, making the journey to find knowledge less difficult and distant when young bamboo shoots have to count their steps on forest roads and rocky slopes.

"I thank the sponsors and will try to study well in the future to not let down my teachers and parents. After learning to walk, I will ride my bike to school and promise to obey traffic laws," Huyen happily said.
Devote more resources to the future
Mr. Vuong Hoang Nam - Deputy Director of Agribank Phu Nhuan - said that Agribank has many charity programs such as building charity houses, schools, medical stations, etc. Among them, the "Sowing seeds of knowledge" scholarship is a meaningful program that Agribank has been determined to pursue under the suggestion of Tuoi Tre newspaper since 2018.

"Originating from the awareness of contributing to taking care of the community, the children are the future buds of the country in remote areas, with difficult circumstances that need support, helping them to go to school. The bicycles help shorten the way to school for the children and most importantly help them see the bright future waiting for them ahead," Mr. Nam shared.
