Since the 2010-2011 school year, the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund has supported over 1,000 scholarships for ethnic minority students in Soc Trang province with a total amount of over 1 billion VND. In addition, since the 2016-2017 school year, the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club has also awarded many scholarships to students who are children of officers and soldiers on duty to protect the Fatherland, and children of fishermen in difficult circumstances in the province.
At the ceremony, Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund and the Club for Hoang Sa - Truong Sa awarded 90 Vu A Dinh and Club for Hoang Sa - Truong Sa scholarships (VND 1 million /scholarship) to ethnic minority students in difficult circumstances ; awarded 3 Compassionate Arms scholarships (VND 6 million /scholarship ) to students affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and 20 scholarships ( VND 1 million /scholarship) to children of officers and professional soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Chau hoped that each scholarship would be a great source of spiritual encouragement for the students. Thereby, contributing to encouraging and motivating students to strive to overcome difficulties, study well, and make positive contributions to the community and society in the future.
