QUANG NINH 188 Green farm spent 15 billion VND to build 12 greenhouses to grow hydroponic vegetables and fruits of all kinds with the most advanced recirculating hydroponic technology from Israel and the Netherlands.

In 2016, 188 Construction Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Mao Khe Ward, Dong Trieu Town, Quang Ninh Province) invested in building a high-tech agricultural model called “188 Green Farm”. The company built 12 greenhouses to grow hydroponic vegetables, various fruits and vegetables with an area of 1.5 hectares and 1 hectare to grow fruits and vegetables on land. The total initial investment cost was 15 billion VND.
Mr. Phan Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of the Company, said that 188 Green farm has a large investment capital for production, equipment, seeds, substrates, nutrition, planting, care, harvesting, packaging processes... are all imported, using the original hydroponic reflux technology, the most advanced hydroponic vegetable technology from Israel and the Netherlands.
Notably, plants are grown in greenhouses and net houses, so the products are almost free from pests and diseases, and are not overly affected by adverse temperatures and light. Instead, they are in a safe living environment, most suitable for the growth and development of plants.
"In particular, plants receive nutrients from the recirculating water flow. The amount of nutrients is actively mixed and coordinated by the unit according to standard production processes, so the excess or lack of nutrients is minimized. Therefore, when products are released to the market, they are guaranteed to be safe for consumers' health," Mr. Hieu emphasized.
The nutrient formula is calculated based on the analysis of water samples, soil samples, and substrate samples to create complete nutrients, best meeting the growth needs of plants. With the above technique, vegetables are provided with all the necessary nutrients with the inspection and monitoring of nutrient sources according to the process, isolated from pathogens, chemical fertilizers, polluted water sources, avoiding toxins from chemicals. Nutrients are replaced periodically once a month.

For 1 hectare of vegetable and fruit growing on land, according to Mr. Hieu, the land for safe vegetable production must not be adversely affected by industrial waste, and must not be contaminated with chemicals that are toxic to humans and the environment. The source of nutrients for watering the plants is taken advantage of from circulating hydroponic nutrients.
The amount of fertilizer is based on specific standards specified in the production processes of each type of vegetable. Irrigation water is from wells through a filtration system. Seeds are also selected with clear origins.
The main products at 188 Green farm are vegetables such as green lettuce, purple lettuce, butter lettuce, glass lettuce, Batavia lettuce, water spinach, Chinese cabbage, sweet cabbage, Chinese broccoli, spinach, jute, Malabar spinach, amaranth... Fruits and vegetables include cucumber, cantaloupe, tomato, eggplant, bell pepper, green beans, carrot, squash, potato, kohlrabi, cabbage, cauliflower.
The main markets for 188 Green Farm products are restaurants, hotels, clean vegetable and fruit stores, schools, factories in the area, Vinmart supermarket systems; Go system; Intermex system; Lotte system in Quang Ninh province.
Mr. Tran Van Thuc, Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Quang Ninh province, said that the province is promoting the application of biotechnology, new materials, mechanization, automation, water-saving irrigation technology, and the application of scientific achievements, new technologies, and smart agriculture in agricultural production.
Along with that, encourage the production and use of new plant and animal varieties with high productivity and quality, adaptable to climate change, with high resistance to pests and diseases on crops, and diseases on livestock; promote the application of safe and quality production processes. Breakthrough expansion in the scale of area and production output of products according to organic standards.
