“Mother's White Hair” - a warm collection of poems, filled with family love

In celebration of the fourth Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2025 and on the occasion of the launch of the poetry collection "White Clouds of Mother's Hair", on April 13, in Hanoi , Kim Dong Publishing House organized an introduction and exchange session with the theme "White Clouds of Mother's Hair: Opening the book page - Touching the poetry".

The poetry collection “White Clouds and Mother's Hair” by author Truong Anh Tu with illustrations by artist Quyen Thai, published by Kim Dong Publishing House, recreates the beauty of poetry in a simple, pure and innocent way.

The author shared: “I never intended to write a poem for children or adults. When I write a poem, I only have a piece of paper in front of me. My readers can be a child, a young person, a middle-aged person or an elderly person… What is important is that through a poem I can express my emotions and thoughts. I am very happy that many of my poems reach readers of all ages. And I believe that readers of all ages can find meaning, joy and messages in those poems depending on each person’s language ability and perception.”

Perhaps thanks to that, each poem in the collection “White Clouds and Mother’s Hair” is close to all ages, it is the simple yet subtle feelings about all things around through the poetic eyes of Truong Anh Tu. The images appearing in his poems are familiar, pure and full of love.

That is the image of a mother cherishing her baby as if she were cherishing her precious world , in the poem “Happy Dream”. Or the familiar image of winter in the homeland in the poem “Winter Tree”…

Commenting on the poetry collection “White Clouds and Mother’s Hair”, writer Le Phuong Lien shared that although she does not write poetry, she reads a lot of poetry and finds Truong Anh Tu to have a different poetic voice compared to other authors. Truong Anh Tu’s works contain the thoughts of an experienced person, rich in meaning, but expressed in very innocent and pure language.

Poet Truong Anh Tu was born in 1967 in Hanoi, and has lived and worked in Germany for more than 30 years. His poems have been published and selected in newspapers, magazines, on radio and television; in anthologies of publishers; are available in libraries of domestic and international universities; are used as research materials, teaching Vietnamese to students abroad; are quoted as exam questions and printed in textbooks in Vietnam...

He has published the poetry collection "Emotions" (Literature Publishing House - 2007); the poetry collection "The seasons of flowers you say" (Writers Association Publishing House - 2018); the bilingual Vietnamese - Polish poetry collection "Hoa ban mai" - "Poranne Kwiaty" (in Poland - 2021).
