In Tan Tien commune, implementing the project of diversifying livelihoods and developing a poverty reduction model, people have been supported to raise commercial pigs and goats, bringing economic efficiency to the people.
Tan Tien Commune has 25 poor and near-poor households supported with 75 breeding goats, with a total cost of 300 million VND. The support from the project has contributed to creating new livelihoods, helping people to develop the economy, to date 13/25 households receiving support have escaped poverty.
Mr. Hoang Ngoc Hung, Chairman of Tan Tien Commune People's Committee, said: Production development support projects have helped create livelihoods and brought about practical results. Poor and near-poor households have benefited from policies that have created conditions to develop the economy and stabilize their lives. Thanks to that, the commune's poverty rate has decreased from 30 households in 2023 to 16 households by the end of 2024, accounting for 2.6%, and the near-poor household rate has decreased from 95 households to 84 households, accounting for 13.8% of the commune's population.
With the determination and participation of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021-2025 period has been implemented quite synchronously and achieved positive results. Thereby, it has solved the basic problems of poor and near-poor households in terms of housing, land, medical examination and treatment needs, education, job creation, income increase, helping poor households escape poverty sustainably.
Through the program, the infrastructure and socio-economic conditions in particularly disadvantaged communes and villages have also been significantly improved, with a positive outlook, ensuring social security, contributing to maintaining the stability of local security and defense.
Thereby, contributing to effectively implementing the goal of multidimensional, inclusive, sustainable poverty reduction, minimizing poverty relapse and poverty generation; creating the best conditions for the poor and poor households to access resources and basic social services to develop production, increase income, improve and enhance life.
