Speaking at the opening session, Dr. Pham Quang Ngoc, Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, said that the workshop is a valuable opportunity for Ninh Binh to welcome and receive valuable knowledge from domestic and international experts and researchers.
In addition, Dr. Pham Quang Ngoc also suggested that experts and scholars focus on a number of important issues such as: Honoring, promoting and disseminating the values of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex associated with sustainable tourism development, creating a premise for Ninh Binh to move towards building Hoa Lu city into a Millennium Heritage City; accurately assessing, affirming the role and providing appropriate planning orientations and solutions for the conservation and promotion of the values of Heritage in the construction of Ninh Binh Millennium Heritage City in the coming time...

Also at the opening session, Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Thanh Binh said that Ninh Binh has become a model in promoting the protection and promotion of the value of UNESCO titles and cooperation with UNESCO. Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh said that the world heritage title has brought Ninh Binh many positive results in economic development, and affirmed that the achievements were thanks to the open management thinking and foresight of the government and people of Ninh Binh province, the direction and support of departments, ministries and branches, including the active support of the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO.

UNESCO Chief Representative in Vietnam Jonathan Baker said that UNESCO is very encouraged by Vietnam’s focus on the sustainable protection of World Heritage sites. He said that the current vision for Trang An is fully consistent with UNESCO’s core mission of promoting cultural understanding, peace and sustainable development through heritage conservation. UNESCO recognises and applauds the spirit of cooperation and foresight that has paved the way for Trang An’s remarkable achievements.

Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Paul Dighwall, an international consultant, congratulated Vietnam in general and Ninh Binh province in particular for successfully managing the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex over the past 10 years. He also said that the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex is a gift from Vietnam to the world and everyone should cherish this heritage.
The workshop took place with thematic sessions such as: A decade of Trang An World Heritage - the journey of creating and preserving values; Connecting Trang An Heritage Urban Area with UNESCO Heritage Cities; Planning to preserve and promote the values of Trang An World Heritage towards a Millennium Heritage City.
The results obtained at this workshop are of great significance for Ninh Binh to continue to build and develop the locality according to the Ninh Binh provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which has just been approved by the Prime Minister.
