During the days of the 2024 Lunar New Year, Tran Quyet Chien and the Vietnamese players had to practice to prepare for the first World Cup tour of the year for 3-cushion carom billiards. According to world rankings, Tran Quyet Chien (ranked 5th in the world) and Bao Phuong Vinh (ranked 8th in the world) will participate in the main round for the 32 strongest players of the tournament.
The first player for Vietnamese billiards to compete in the first qualifying round of the Bogota World Cup will be Pham Van Son. Two players Le Thanh Tien and Thon Viet Hoang Minh will compete in the second qualifying round. Meanwhile, Chiem Hong Thai (ranked 19th in the world) and Tran Thanh Luc (ranked 28th in the world) will compete in the fourth qualifying round to compete for a ticket to the main round.
