At around 7:35 p.m. on October 20, heavy rain poured down on Thong Nhat Stadium. The referee allowed the players to play for a few minutes in the rain. Afterwards, due to the heavy rain, Thong Nhat Stadium was flooded, forcing the match to be postponed due to poor technical quality. Before that, neither Ho Chi Minh City Club nor the visiting Ninh Binh team had scored a goal. The two teams started the game relatively tight and the quality of the players on both sides was also balanced, so no goals were scored.
