Accordingly, staff of Kim Son Commune Health Station organized diphtheria prevention and control propaganda activities at the Cultural House of Ban 2 Nhai Tho and directly propagated to households.
The propaganda content helps people understand the symptoms of diphtheria, the risks of diphtheria, and how to prevent the disease; propagates that people returning from areas with diphtheria cases, people in contact with suspected cases of the disease need to voluntarily declare to the health station to make a list, guide health monitoring and proactively implement personal protection measures to prevent respiratory diseases, when there are suspected symptoms of the disease, they must immediately notify medical staff. In addition, medical staff mobilize people to take their children to get vaccinated against diphtheria in the national expanded immunization program.
In particular, Kim Son Commune Health Station has also sprayed chemicals to prevent epidemics around the house of a patient with symptoms similar to diphtheria; advised the Commune Disease Prevention Steering Committee to implement epidemic prevention measures; connected with village health workers, village chiefs and Party cell secretaries to coordinate propaganda and monitor the health situation of local people.
Previously, in Ban 2 Nhai Tho, Kim Son commune, Bao Yen district, a case with symptoms similar to diphtheria was recorded. The patient is being treated at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Bao Thang District General Hospital. Currently, the patient's health is stable, with less white fungus in the mouth. The health sector has taken samples, sent them to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology and is awaiting test results.
