Infrastructure strategy goes first

Less than 2 years since the delivery of the first pure electric car model VF e34 to Vietnamese consumers, VinFast 's electric vehicle charging station system has covered all 63 provinces and cities. In August 2023 alone, 101 more charging stations were put into operation, thereby gradually completing the planning of 150,000 charging ports nationwide, increasing convenience for car owners and future customers.

In September 2023, VinFast will cover the charging station network on 106 national highways and a series of expressways in Vietnam.

In comparison with the world's largest electric car company and countries in the region, it can be seen that VinFast in particular and Vietnam in general possess an ideal infrastructure system for electric vehicles. Specifically, according to statistics by the end of 2022, Tesla owns 145,000 charging ports across the United States after 14 years of launching its first electric car model, while the total number of kilometers of highways and expressways in the United States is 6.6 million kilometers, 264 times more than Vietnam (25,000 kilometers).

In Southeast Asia, Thailand has only had about 700 charging stations installed by the end of 2021, and aims to have 13,000 fast charging ports nationwide by 2030. Indonesia - a country with strong support policies for electric vehicles - has only had 430 charging stations built by the end of 2022, according to Statista.

In Vietnam, VinFast's charging station system has been deployed on 106 national highways and a series of expressways, with all kinds of capacities from regular charging to super-fast charging. The average distance between charging stations is only about 65km and is increasingly shortened, making inter-provincial and even cross-country travel by electric cars easy.

“VinFast charging stations are everywhere in the provinces, traveling across Vietnam by electric car without any worries” is the affirmation of Mr. Nguyen Manh Thang (admin of Oto+ forum) - who has twice used VinFast VF e34 and VF 8 electric cars to conquer the route from North to South in a record short time. This expert and owner of VF 8 highly appreciated the way VinFast arranged the charging station system, showing the scientific and reasonable distance between points.

It is expected that by June 2024, the maximum distance between charging stations on national highways will be no more than 50km.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, another VF 8 owner, commented: “The charging station network is widespread and has many power options. With the fast charging station, the charging time from 30% to 80% is only about 15 minutes, which is really impressive.” This opinion received a lot of agreement from other car owners who are members of the VinFast Global Community.

According to information from VinFast, it is expected that by June 2024, the longest distance between charging stations on national highways will not exceed 50km. While VinFast electric cars can travel at least 285km per charge, electric car owners can be completely confident and secure on long journeys thanks to the Vietnamese electric car company's well-planned investment strategy in infrastructure.

Advantage in electric car racing

In fact, from the beginning, VinFast has been steadfast in its “infrastructure first” strategy when striving to build a charging station system. Thanks to the advantage of Vingroup’s service ecosystem, VinFast quickly “covered” a wide network of charging stations, from public parking lots, shopping malls, apartments, office buildings, universities, highways, national highways or Petrolimex and PVOil gas stations.

According to observers, the dense network of charging stations helps VinFast gain a big advantage in electric vehicles in Vietnam. In the market, a number of other brands are also rushing to introduce electric cars, but the lack of a public charging station system is causing many inconveniences and concerns for customers.

VinFast always brings the best products in its price range.

The convenience of charging station infrastructure, as well as superior products and after-sales policies, have made VinFast electric cars increasingly popular with consumers. In the first 7 months of this year, VinFast delivered 14,680 electric cars to customers in Vietnam. This is an impressive result in the general sluggish market context due to people cutting back on spending. The VF 5 Plus, VF e34 and VF 8 models have repeatedly been in the top best-selling cars of the month in the first half of this year.

With its continuous efforts to increase the coverage of charging stations, VinFast shows that customers are always at the center. Not only providing the best products in the price range, the Vietnamese car company also offers excellent after-sales policies, unprecedented in the market, to optimize the benefits of car owners. In addition, VinFast said that the plan to expand the charging station system continues to be implemented to better meet user needs, thereby promoting the trend of using green, environmentally friendly vehicles.
