The heart of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc will be permanently enshrined at Vietnam National Pagoda.

According to Most Venerable Thich Tam Hai - member of the Executive Council, press secretary of the Office of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Venerable Elders discussed, contributed ideas and agreed to invite the heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc to be enshrined at the Vietnam National Temple (HCMC) during the 2025 United Nations Day of Vesak (Vesak 2025) for monks, nuns, Buddhists and people to worship.

Afterwards, the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc will be enshrined and worshiped forever at Da Bao stupa - a monument commemorating the 1963 Dharma persecution, in the grounds of Viet Nam Quoc Tu.

Resolution No. 27 of the Standing Committee of the Council of Evidence has 5 points, of historical significance regarding the responsibility to worship and preserve the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc at a Buddhist monastery of the church, Viet Nam Quoc Tu.

"Any request to bring the heart relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc to a location other than Da Bao tower must have the approval of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, through the consensus of the Council of Evidence and the Executive Council in a unified written document.

Direct worship must comply with appropriate regulations, and protection must be absolutely safe. The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has assigned the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Ho Chi Minh City to be directly responsible for preserving the solemnity and protecting the safety of the sacred treasures of Vietnamese Buddhism" - excerpt from the resolution.

The 2025 Vesak Festival is co-organized by the International Organizing Committee for the United Nations Day of Vesak (ICDV) and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

This is the fourth time Vietnam has hosted the event, previously in Hanoi (2008), Ninh Binh (2014) and Ha Nam (2019).

It is expected that 80 countries and territories will participate in Vesak 2025 in Vietnam. This is the 20th time the festival has been held. Vesak 2025 will take place from May 6 to 8 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.

The main message of Vesak 2025 in Vietnam is "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development".
