Hai Tien coastal fishing village with its cultural features of the coastal countryside, becomes a unique stop for tourists to explore and experience when coming to Hoang Hoa beach.

Experience the life of the coastal fishing village of Hai Tien Fishermen of Hoang Thanh commune remove their nets after a trip out to sea.

With 2 km of coastline within the 12 km coastline of Hai Tien Beach Tourist Area, Hoang Thanh commune has long been a place of residence for coastal residents. Nowadays, life has changed a lot, but the people here still preserve the unique identity of the coastal residents. Hoang Thanh commune has 7 villages, of which 4 are coastal villages (including Quang Trung, Trung Hai, Dong Tay Hai, Dong Xuan Vi). With the characteristics of a coastal commune, the water along the shore is shallow, so ships cannot enter, only rafts and rafts are suitable means of transport for seafood exploitation activities. After the planning, development and rearrangement process, the boat mooring area of Hoang Thanh commune fishermen is located at the end of the Hai Tien coastal embankment. This is the raft mooring area of Hoang Thanh commune fishermen after hours of going out to sea and entering the inlet. This is also the coastal section where the bustling seafood buying scene takes place every morning. Coming here, people and tourists can directly buy fresh seafood that has just been caught from the fishermen's rafts. The simple and rustic beauty of a coastal fishing village leaves an impression when bringing tourists closer to the lives of the people here, creating a peaceful space in the middle of the ocean nature.

Witnessing the development of Hai Tien Beach Resort after more than 10 years of operation, many people still remember this coastline decades ago, the coastline was wild, the road to the sea was not easy, walking through windy sandbanks, scorching sun. Through many ups and downs of time, life here has changed a lot, the seafaring profession here has gradually narrowed in scale. If in the past, almost every village in the commune had people following the sea, now the number of means and people working in seafood exploitation is gradually decreasing. According to statistics of the People's Committee of Hoang Thanh commune, in the commune there are currently 268 means of exploitation (262 rafts, 6 basket boats) with nearly 1,000 fishermen participating, mainly concentrated in the villages of Dong Tay Hai, Dai Long, Trung Hai, Quang Trung... The seafood catching activities of Hoang Thanh fishermen are mainly on a small scale, exploiting close to shore. They still quietly stick to their profession as a way to maintain and earn extra income to cover their living expenses.

Their new day usually starts at 1-2 am when the boats, rafts, and rafts set out to sea and land when dawn breaks at the foot of the sea. On each raft, raft going out to sea, there are only 2 to 6 people participating in fishing. Similar to fishermen in the coastal communes of Hoang Hoa, the lives of Hoang Thanh fishermen are closely linked to the sea, accustomed to "eating the waves and talking to the wind" but simple, friendly and close. They are people who are familiar with the waterways and knowledgeable about the sea. Because it is a nearshore fishing activity, the seafood is harvested during the day, ensuring freshness, fast consumption and good prices, but the nearshore seafood resources are increasingly depleted, so the types of products are also gradually decreasing... During the sea tourism season, the amount of seafood consumed increases more strongly, fishermen still work hard to stick to the sea to supply seafood to the market.

Mr. Truong Ngoc Dinh, a fisherman in Hoang Thanh commune, shared: Each season has different types of seafood, commonly fish, shrimp, jellyfish, mantis shrimp... The seafood is sold immediately to traders and people or tourists on this beach. Fishermen in the commune also bring rafts and rafts to anchor at this beach to rest and do work on shore, preparing for the next day's trip to sea.

Due to the high demand, seafood is sought after by traders, then transported to restaurants and markets in the district and transferred to neighboring districts and cities. During the jellyfish harvest season, it is transported to processing facilities. Many tourists when coming to Hai Tien beach also come to this stretch of coast to visit and buy seafood from fishermen. The bustling scene, being able to choose fresh seafood by hand is one of the interesting experiences for tourists. Steaming and grilling seafood services on the shore for tourists have also developed accordingly. Although the scale of Hai Tien coastal fishing village is not large, the peaceful, peaceful image with delicious dishes and the warm, friendly and hospitable feelings of the people of the sea have become interesting things for tourists when coming to Hai Tien beach.

Ms. Vu Bich Hong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said: “What I especially like when coming to Hai Tien is this fishing village. I feel like coming here I get to experience a truly peaceful sea space. In addition to convenient tourism, I also get to explore the simple, close-knit life of the people. Hopefully, the locality will pay attention to supporting fishermen to maintain this coastal fishing village as an attractive destination for tourists to experience and explore the beauty of life and work of the local people.”

Anyone who has the opportunity to watch the sunrise at the foot of the sea when the rafts and rafts return one by one, watching the fishermen with tanned faces and bright smiles carrying trays of shrimp and fish to shore, or paying attention to the mothers and wives laughing and talking while taking fish to sell... can fully feel the beauty of the simple labor at Hai Tien beach when the new day begins. In recent years, as Hai Tien sea tourism has increasingly developed, fishermen in Hoang Thanh have known how to change to develop service industries serving sea tourism. The locality has also implemented many solutions to encourage the development of diverse production, business, service - trade industries, creating jobs and increasing income for people. In particular, promoting the strength of the coastline, with the Hai Tien Sea Tourism Area being developed, fishermen in the commune have invested in upgrading and repairing rafts, vehicles and fishing gear to exploit seafood to serve the needs of the people and tourists.

Mr. Le Huu Tu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Thanh Commune, shared: To help fishermen feel secure in exploiting seafood, Hoang Hoa District has invested in building solid boat watch houses at the mooring areas in Dong Tay Hai and Xuan Vi villages. The locality creates favorable conditions for fishermen to maintain their fishing profession, promoting the role of the Thanh - Hai - Tien coastal fisheries co-management group in controlling fishermen's seafood exploitation activities. The locality hopes that this coastal fishing village will continue to be maintained, arranged harmoniously and reasonably to retain the typical beauty of the coastal fishing village - where tourists can experience and explore the beauty of nature and the culture of the fishermen. With the development of Hai Tien tourism, hopefully in the near future, sea tourism will develop more types of experiential tourism so that fishermen on their rafts and boats can welcome groups of tourists to visit the sea and islands, admire the mangrove forest landscape or participate in seafood exploitation activities with fishermen...
