That was the response of Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong to shareholders regarding the reason for developing VinFast electric vehicles last May. "VinFast demonstrates our social responsibility and patriotism towards the country; there is no ulterior motive," Mr. Vuong emphasized. Two days prior, Mr. Vuong donated his VinES energy company, worth 6,500 billion VND, to VinFast to enable the electric vehicle manufacturer to proactively develop technology and focus resources on researching and developing batteries for its electric vehicle lines. In April, Mr. Vuong also donated $1 billion from his personal fortune to VinFast... With VinFast, Vietnam not only puts itself on the global automotive industry map but also aims to become one of the world's leading electric vehicle manufacturers.

Ambition is also the explanation given by Chairman Nguyen Quoc Ky of Vietravel Corporation for venturing into aviation and facing numerous difficulties instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor from building Vietnam's leading travel company over the past few decades. It all began in 2018 when Mr. Ky was invited by a Chinese partner to experience their services and witnessed their ownership of 127 aircraft. "What's happening when major foreign travel companies are perfecting their ecosystems?" Mr. Ky wondered, and Vietravel Airlines was born to realize his dream of connecting Vietnamese tourism with the world as quickly and conveniently as possible.

Viewing the challenge of overcoming difficulties as a business's duty, Mr. Nguyen Si Ba, Chairman of Tan Long Group, demonstrates the responsibility of entrepreneurs in the context of the country facing historical challenges. Instead of choosing the easy path, he proactively took on the mission of becoming a counterweight to foreign businesses in the livestock and food sectors, despite facing numerous hardships as a latecomer. Tan Long was also the first Vietnamese company to introduce Vietnamese rice to the Japanese market, marking a milestone in the journey of enhancing the value of rice grains and bringing Vietnamese rice brands to the world .

These are just some of the many businesses that we, the journalists of Thanh Nien newspaper, have contacted while working on this special edition celebrating Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day on October 13th . From small businesses, we now have billion-dollar companies. From focusing solely on the domestic market, we now export goods to hundreds of countries. Maximizing profits has become a crucial aspect of the development of the Vietnamese business community. In particular, businesses are also pioneers in the green and sustainable growth trend that Vietnam is committed to with the world.

Currently, the Vietnamese business community is facing existential challenges as the world and Vietnam have been experiencing successive crises. However, as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh noted at a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese business community on October 11th, history has proven that challenges only further temper their resilience, perseverance, courage, flexibility, and innovative spirit. The head of government believes that the Vietnamese business community will continue to stand alongside, share difficulties, and support the Party, State, Government, and Prime Minister in their leadership and management to seize new opportunities, enhance their endogenous capacity, and contribute to building a strong and prosperous Vietnam, where the people are happy and well-off.

That is also the mission and aspiration that many Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs have set for themselves on their development journey today and in the future.
