In addition to the above, Thung Nham is also blessed by nature with a precious flower called Son Kim Cuc.

The precious flower - Son Kim Cuc is grown and cared for in Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area.

Son Kim Cuc means "Chrysanthemum grows on rare rocky mountains like gold", this is a flower that grows on steep rocky mountains, absorbing the dew and mountain air, so it is extremely pure and nutritious.

With its rocky terrain and year-round fresh climate, Thung Nham, Ninh Binh is one of the places that still preserves this precious product of nature. Therefore, Thung Nham is always aware of preserving and spreading the value of this precious flower.

In Thung Nham, Son Kim Cuc is planted around May - July of the solar calendar. After 110 days, it flowers and after 130 days, it is in full bloom. Son Kim Cuc is planted and cared for purely naturally, without the intervention of any pesticides. The flowers absorb nutrients from the Hoa Lu mountains and forests to bloom and bud.

In Thung Nham, Son Kim Cuc is planted around May - July of the solar calendar. It takes 110 days to flower and 130 days to fully bloom.

When winter comes, it is also the time to harvest the Chrysanthemum and roast the flowers to make tea. The chrysanthemums are harvested when they are just blooming, when the flower calyx is bright yellow, full, and the petals are still covered with dew. After being dried twice by the traditional hand roasting method and once in the sun, the Chrysanthemum flowers have condensed their essence and absorbed a fragrant aroma. They can be bottled for long-term preservation and use.

Son Kim Cuc flower tea has a slightly bitter, sweet taste and a cool aroma. It can be enjoyed as is or combined with other ingredients such as red apples, wolfberries, licorice, honey... both delicious and very nutritious.

After being dried twice by traditional hand-drying method and once in the sun, the Chrysanthemum flowers have condensed their essence and absorbed a fragrant aroma.

Talking about the uses of Son Kim Cuc, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac wrote: "Through the three seasons of spring, summer, and autumn, it absorbs the fresh and fragrant essence of heaven and earth, has the effect of curing many diseases, it can be called a top product."

There is also an old legend that this tea was invented by soldiers of the Dinh Dynasty (968-979) stationed at the outpost on Thuy Mountain and then spread among the people. Son Kim Cuc tea also cured the eye disease of Queen Mother Tu Du, mother of King Tu Duc of the Nguyen Dynasty, so from then on, Son Kim Cuc was also called "Cuc Tien Vua" - a precious medicine named "Minh Muc": "Minh" means bright, "Muc" means eyes, medicine to brighten eyes.

Taking advantage of the advantages of nature, in addition to areas that need strict conservation, Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area has planned areas for cultivation and raising agricultural products such as: planting forestry, agricultural trees, crops or raising poultry and livestock in the form of grazing in association with nature, creating clean agricultural products that are safe for human health.

Currently, Doanh Sinh Company allocates land for cultivation and livestock farming to ensure the following principles: Sufficiently large in scale, with raw material areas rich in medicinal properties; areas separate from service business activities and fully utilizing natural food sources.

In Thung Nham, Son Kim Cuc is grown and cared for purely naturally with an area of ​​over 2 hectares. The care process does not involve any pesticides. Because chrysanthemums grow naturally, absorbing the dew of the sky and the mountain air to live, to bloom and bud, they are very pure. Late autumn and early winter is also the time to harvest Son Kim Cuc flowers to make tea.

According to Ms. Hoa, Son Kim Cuc tea products have been used by the Company to serve tourists coming to Thung Nham for decades, receiving many positive feedbacks from tourists.

At the end of November 2022, Son Kim Cuc tea was evaluated and classified as a 4-star OCOP product by the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council. This is the first product in the chain of agricultural products that Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area wants to develop.

On the other hand, the "key" part in promoting the strong development of Son Kim Cuc OCOP tea products is that the Company wants to affirm the brand of agricultural products of Thung Nham Tourist Area, thereby promoting trade, finding output for products, developing sales points and promoting, linking consumption of OCOP products, creating an effective distribution system.

Along with that, businesses will have strategies to preserve and reproduce to develop pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic products... with high value not only economically but also as typical products serving tourism.
