The National Assembly Chairman requested that the Ministers uphold their sense of responsibility, answer briefly and to the point, clarify the questions raised by the National Assembly deputies, and at the same time propose practical, effective and feasible solutions, ensuring timely and effective overcoming of immediate weaknesses and limitations, while creating substantial, fundamental and long-term changes for each question content.

Continuing the 31st Session, on the morning of March 18, at the National Assembly House, under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the National Assembly Standing Committee held a question-and-answer session on a group of issues in the financial sector.

Attending the question-and-answer session at the National Assembly bridge point were comrades: General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Tran Thanh Man - Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Party Central Committee member, Vice President; comrades Party Central Committee members, Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly: Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Duc Hai, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong...

The question and answer session was connected to 62 televised locations of National Assembly delegations in provinces and centrally-run cities; broadcast live on Voice of Vietnam Radio, live on Vietnam Television, and Vietnam National Assembly Television for voters and people to follow and monitor.

Speaking at the opening of the question-and-answer session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that based on the synthesis of information sources and proposals from National Assembly delegations, reviewing the scope of questions raised at the 6th Session and meetings and sessions since the beginning of the term, based on the actual situation, and at the same time to create conditions for all Ministers and heads of sectors to answer questions, the National Assembly Standing Committee decided to choose to question groups of issues under the state management responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this session.

In the morning, Finance Minister Ho Duc Phoc will answer questions about the management and supervision of insurance business activities and service activities in the field of life insurance business; the appraisal and licensing of companies providing financial services; the implementation of laws on lottery, betting, casino and electronic games with prizes; customs procedures, customs inspection and supervision; prevention and combat of smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border; price management and price determination of goods and services in the list of goods and services priced by the State.

“As a multi-sector field, playing an important role in the country's socio-economic development, it is necessary to continue questioning the financial sector to continue perfecting the legal framework, policies, implementation organization and strengthening inspection, examination and supervision to improve the financial market, promote the development of high value-added financial services such as insurance, accounting, auditing, valuation, etc.,” the National Assembly Chairman stated.

In the afternoon, National Assembly deputies will question Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son about the protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad; the situation of law violations by Vietnamese citizens abroad and foreigners in Vietnam; protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese fishermen; the implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements and solutions to promote the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation agreements; support for expanding export markets and supporting Vietnamese enterprises to avoid fraud.

In addition, there are activities to promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism to the world and visa exemption for citizens of other countries entering Vietnam to develop tourism; management, arrangement, consolidation, improvement of qualifications and organizational capacity of the diplomatic sector (including Vietnamese representative agencies abroad); solutions to strengthen the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity in diplomatic activities.

The National Assembly Chairman said that over the past time, under the leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government, the diplomatic sector has closely coordinated with the Party's foreign affairs, the National Assembly's foreign affairs, and people's foreign affairs, synchronously, creatively, and effectively implementing the Party's foreign policy and has achieved comprehensive and very important results.

The areas of work that the National Assembly Standing Committee focused on questioning at this session have also achieved many progressive results, making important contributions to the overall achievements of foreign affairs and diplomacy in recent years. Through this questioning activity, it will also contribute to clarifying the current situation, outstanding results, limitations, shortcomings and objective and subjective causes as well as clearly identifying directions and solutions to better perform these work contents in the coming time.

With the questioning time limited to only one day, to ensure maximum effective use of time, the National Assembly Chairman requested that National Assembly deputies ask clear, concise, and to-the-point questions, and debate frankly, responsibly, and constructively; according to regulations.

At the end of the questioning session, the National Assembly Standing Committee will issue a resolution to serve as a basis for implementation and supervision.
