The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced the recruitment of civil servants for the 2023-2024 school year for its affiliated public service units, including high schools, general schools with many levels of education with the highest level being high school, and continuing education centers.

According to statistics, in the 2023-2024 school year, this department manages 124 public service units. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has decentralized the recruitment of civil servants to 20 affiliated public service units.

For the remaining units, after synthesizing the first round of recruitment needs, the department will recruit 308 civil servants, including 255 teachers and 53 staff for affiliated units that have not been assigned to recruit.

Accordingly, recruitment of civil servants is based on job requirements, job positions, professional title standards and salary funds of public service units, ensuring publicity, transparency, objectivity and compliance with the law.

Those selected must meet the standards of quality, professional expertise and capacity as required by the job position and job title to be recruited. Those who fail the civil service recruitment exam will not have their exam results reserved for subsequent exams.

Candidates for civil service recruitment for the 2022-2023 school year

The conditions for registering for the civil service recruitment are that the candidate has Vietnamese nationality, is residing in Vietnam, is 18 years old or older; has a clear application form and resume; has a diploma or training certificate appropriate to the job position. In particular, the candidate must be healthy enough to perform the work or tasks according to the job position for which he/she is applying, and meets other conditions as required by the job position.

In particular, candidates for the position of teacher must meet the standards of training and development according to regulations, which is to have a bachelor's degree or higher in teacher training for high school teachers. In case of having a bachelor's degree in a suitable major but not in teacher training, they must have a certificate of pedagogical training for high school teachers.

For staff positions, candidates must meet the standards of training and development according to current regulations corresponding to the job title the staff is applying for.

This year, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City stipulates priority groups in recruiting civil servants including:

Group 1 includes heroes of the armed forces, heroes of labor, type B war invalids, and people enjoying policies like war invalids (7.5 points are added to the results of round 2).

Group 2 includes ethnic minorities, military officers, police officers, demobilized professional soldiers, people working in secretarial work who have changed their profession, graduates of reserve officer training, graduates of training for commanders of commune-level military commands of the basic military sector who have been awarded the rank of reserve officer and have registered for the reserve officer category, children of martyrs, children of wounded soldiers, children of sick soldiers, children of people enjoying policies like wounded soldiers, children of type B wounded soldiers, biological children of resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals, children of Heroes of the Armed Forces, children of Heroes of Labor (this group of subjects will have 5 points added to the results of round 2).

Group 3 includes people who have completed military service, public security service, and youth volunteer team members (this group of people will have 2.5 points added to the round 2 score).

In case a civil servant candidate belongs to many priority categories, only the highest priority point will be added to the exam score in round 2.

Candidates read the instructions before entering the exam room for civil servant recruitment for the 2022-2023 school year.

In the 2023-2024 school year, civil servant recruitment will be organized in 2 rounds. Round 1 will test general knowledge in the form of multiple choice tests on computers. The results of round 1 will be announced to candidates immediately after the end of the computer test. If candidates answer 50% or more of the questions correctly for each part of the test, they will be allowed to continue to round 2.

In round 2 on professional skills, candidates practice professional skills for 30 minutes.

Candidates who pass the civil servant recruitment exam must have a practical score of 50 points or more; those with a higher score in round 2 plus priority points (if any) will be selected in descending order within the recruitment quota of each job position.

In case there are 2 or more people with the same practical score plus priority score (if any) in the last recruitment position, the person with the higher practical score in round 2 will be the successful candidate.
