A representative of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said this afternoon (October 16) that contractors are carrying out the work of re-establishing and returning the site to Hoang Van Thu Park, Tan Binh District.
The work was carried out after the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen underpass project of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project was put into operation.
Previously, to implement the construction package of the underpass at the gateway of Tan Son Nhat airport, the investor dismantled the pedestrian bridge connecting areas A and B of Hoang Van Thu park. At the same time, more than 3,400 square meters of land on Phan Thuc Duyen and Tran Quoc Hoan streets were cleared to organize traffic routes to serve the barrier for the underpass construction.
Currently, the returned area has nearly 700 square meters of land in the park, the rest will be renovated and made into sidewalks for pedestrians.
After re-establishing the site, nearly 100 trees were replanted here, including rosewood and trumpet trees combined with ginger grass carpet below.
At the end of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City will start the construction of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project at the Tan Son Nhat gateway, with a total investment of more than 4,800 billion VND. The project is expected to open a new traffic direction, directly connecting Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal, breaking the monopoly of the airport entrance on Truong Son street.
The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
