Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc has just signed a decision to establish a local education materials compilation board for grades 9 and 12 - the two grades that will begin implementing the 2018 General Education Program from the 2024-2025 school year at the secondary level.
Accordingly, the local education materials compilation board consists of 11 members in each grade 9 and 12.
Members of the editorial team include managers, representatives of specialized departments and divisions of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, university lecturers, managers and teachers of secondary and high schools in the city.
The task of the Editorial Board is to specify the goals of the educational program, specifically identify the requirements for knowledge, skills, attitudes, and content of each lesson, ensuring practicality and suitability for the age and level of students.
In particular, local educational materials are required to apply teaching methods and forms of organization that promote the positivity, initiative and creativity of teachers and learners, and at the same time have testing and evaluation methods oriented towards developing students' qualities and abilities.
The terms used in the document must be clear, in the correct format, and presented in accordance with current regulations.
Previously, at the primary level, Ho Chi Minh City established a local educational materials compilation board for each grade level.
Recently, in early January 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training approved local educational materials for grades 4, 8 and 11 for use in educational institutions in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2023-2024 school year.
The document was approved in the context that high schools had completed the first semester curriculum, so schools started implementing it from the second semester.
Depending on the actual conditions of the teaching staff and students, schools proactively implement appropriate teaching methods, ensuring completion of subject requirements by the end of the school year.
