TPO - At the thematic session, the HCMC People's Council dismissed two Vice Chairmen of the HCMC People's Committee and elected two new personnel to fill these positions. Along with that, the session also elected to add the position of member of the City People's Committee for the Director of the Department of Home Affairs who was recently transferred and appointed.

On May 19, at the 15th Session (special session), the 10th term of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, term 2021 - 2026, carried out personnel work for the leadership of the City People's Committee.

Accordingly, the meeting elected Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation as Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term X, 2021 - 2026.

As a result, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy were elected as Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee with 100% and 91.76% of the votes, respectively.

Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai was born in 1967, hometown Long An province, has a Master's degree in Law, Advanced Political Theory.

During his career, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai held the position of Chief Prosecutor of Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy from June 2016 to June 2019.

From July 2019 to June 2020, Mr. Hai was Deputy Head of the Standing Committee and then held the position of Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.

Since July 2020, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai has been a member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. Mr. Hai is currently a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was born in 1977, hometown Ho Chi Minh City, has a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Master's degree in Party Building and State Administration, and Senior Political Theory.

During her career, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy held the following positions: Secretary of Tan Phu District Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, President of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Deputy Secretary of Go Vap District Party Committee, Secretary of Go Vap District Party Committee.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy was appointed as President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation from April 2018 until now. Ms. Dieu Thuy is also a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

On the same day, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen presented the decision of the Ho Chi Minh City Standing Committee to transfer and appoint Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai to participate and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term 2021 - 2026.

Along with that, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen also presented the decision of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on the transfer and appointment of Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy to participate and hold the position of Member of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

Add more members to the HCMC People's Committee

Also at the meeting, delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council elected Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, as a member of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, term X, 2021-2026.

Recently, Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Secretary of District 8 Party Committee, was mobilized and assigned by the Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to work at Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to be accepted and appointed to the position of Director of the Department of Home Affairs.

Along with that, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee also appointed Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan to hold the position of Member of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term and assigned him to hold the position (concurrently) of Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Committee from the time of his appointment as Director of the City Department of Home Affairs.

Dismissal of two Vice Chairmen of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee

Implementing the meeting plan, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council has dismissed Mr. Duong Anh Duc and Mr. Ngo Minh Chau from the positions of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, due to being transferred and assigned other tasks.

Accordingly, Mr. Duong Anh Duc was mobilized, assigned and appointed by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to hold the position of Secretary of the District 1 Party Committee. Mr. Ngo Minh Chau was mobilized and assigned by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee to be Head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee.
