From the beginning of the year to August 19, Ho Chi Minh City had a total of 20,116 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, with no deaths. Currently, hospitals in the area are treating 330 cases, of which 329 are under 6 years old (accounting for 99.6%).
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, compared to the average number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases in the previous 4 weeks, the rate of increase in the number of cases is showing a slowing trend.
Last week, Ho Chi Minh City recorded 350 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 19.1% compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks. From the beginning of the year to August 19, the city recorded 10,847 cases. Hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City are treating 224 cases of dengue fever (111 cases are adults, 113 cases are children). There are 5 cases on invasive ventilators, all transferred from the province and are being treated at the City Children's Hospital; 1 case is on dialysis.
Since the beginning of the year, Ho Chi Minh City has had 5,140 Covid-19 cases announced. There is currently 1 case being treated in the hospital. Ho Chi Minh City has run out of Covid-19 vaccines since July 12.
