Tan Uyen City: Completed the goal of eliminating temporary and leaky houses

The monitoring team conducted a survey of some houses under construction in Tan Uyen City.

Through screening, Tan Uyen City has 6 policy households in need of support for house repairs, with a total cost of 300 million VND from the Gratitude Fund. To date, the city has started construction and repaired 6 houses (of which 2 have been completed, reaching 100% of the plan). In addition, the city has 17 poor households in need of house repairs; 12 poor households have no land or house. Of the 17 households supported for house repairs, 4 houses are sponsored by the "For the Poor" Fund; 13 houses are implemented in the form of socialization.

To date, 14 houses have been started, reaching 82.35%; the total cost is nearly 700 million VND. Of which, the city's "For the Poor" Fund supported 200 million VND; the Ward Steering Committee mobilized more than 434 million VND from socialized sources; the rest was contributed by families with a total amount of 65 million VND.

For 12 poor households without land or houses and currently renting houses, the City People's Committee has urged the Thanh Binh social housing investor (Phu Chanh Ward) to consider and support the arrangement of these households into the social housing area. On March 18, relevant units and local authorities together with the investor visited each household to check the current status of the house, grasp the labor demand situation to arrange and assign suitable jobs for each member of the household when they come to live in the social housing area. In addition, 3 households did not agree to move into the social housing area because they did not want to leave the locality where they live.

In the coming time, the Steering Committee of communes and wards in Tan Uyen City will continue to urgently repair and hand over houses to people before April 29; continue to mobilize 3 households without land, without houses, and currently living in rented houses to move into the housing area that has been mobilized by the City People's Committee.

Through the survey, Mr. Vo Thanh Giau highly appreciated the achievements of Tan Uyen City in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, contributing to ensuring social security and taking good care of people's lives.
