Nha Trang City: Install additional traffic lights on the west side of Quan Truong Bridge

On April 20, Mr. Le Xuan Loc - Deputy Head of the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas of Nha Trang City said that the unit has just completed the installation of additional traffic light poles on the west side of Quan Truong Bridge on the Dien Khanh side going to Nha Trang and installed signs allowing motorbikes to turn right onto Ring Road 2 when the light is red on Quan Truong Bridge. Specifically, the new traffic light installed on the west side of the bridge is designed to operate out of phase, 15 seconds earlier than the light pole on the east side of the bridge. The purpose is to interrupt traffic flow, reducing the number of vehicles stopping on the bridge when the light is red. Initial results show that the number of vehicles stopping on the bridge has decreased significantly, traffic at this intersection is stable and orderly.

According to Mr. Loc, the traffic lights at the intersection of To Huu - Ring Road 2 will be adjusted from flashing yellow lights to red - yellow - green lights from the beginning of 2025 to limit traffic congestion during rush hours in this area. However, when the lights operate according to the above plan, when there is a red light on To Huu Street, many vehicles have to stop on the bridge. To overcome this situation, Nha Trang City People's Committee surveyed, evaluated and decided to add traffic lights and signs as above.

Quan Truong Bridge is designed according to HL93 standards, able to withstand the load when vehicles stop at red lights on the bridge.
