88 valedictorians, including 43 valedictorians admitted to Universities, Academies, and Colleges, and 45 valedictorians graduating with excellent academic achievements.
Tran Pham Long Nghia, a student majoring in Computer Science at the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) was the valedictorian of the Competency Assessment method with a near-perfect score of 1116/1200.
Nghia said this score exceeded his expectations, but this was the result of a long process of effort.
"I feel happy and proud to have achieved this result. This will be a great motivation for me during my university studies," Nghia said.
This is the 11th consecutive year that the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association and the City Student Support Center have organized a program to honor valedictorians. Over the past 11 years, the program has honored 869 outstanding new students and graduates.
In recent years, Ho Chi Minh City has also been a locality with projects to support the development of young talents and future leaders of the City, along with many mechanisms and policies to attract talents in various fields. Along with that, there is the issuance of preferential policies to recruit civil servants and public employees from excellent graduates and highly qualified people to work in agencies and units of the City's political system.
Therefore, the City hopes that the honored valedictorians and other outstanding students will be positive factors, striving to become high-quality human resources, actively participating and contributing their talents, qualities and intelligence, especially to the public sector, helping the City continue to develop to its full potential.
