Ho Chi Minh City: Thu Duc City announces plan for primary school enrollment and 6th grade entrance exam

On April 23, Thu Duc City People's Committee officially announced the enrollment plan for the first level and the survey plan for grade 6 in the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, the regulation stipulates that the student's parents or legal guardians are responsible for the student's current residence information (including "relationship with the head of household" and related information) identified through the electronic identification application (VNEID), must declare within the data review time frame according to the document issued by the Departmentof Education and Training (GD-DT) of Ho Chi Minh City, ensuring maximum limitation of paper records. In special cases, follow the instructions of the Department of Education and Training and the decision of the Steering Committee for Primary Admissions of Thu Duc City, and must declare on the system and store full evidence at the Department of Education and Training.

In addition, continue to maintain and develop the form of online registration and application for admission to primary classes; the contents of time frames, implementation procedures and related issues must comply with the instructions of the Department. Units develop support plans and instructions for difficult cases or those unfamiliar with the operation; parents must confirm enrollment on the admissions page at: https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn, then submit paper applications directly to the school of admission according to the local primary school admission plan.

The SMS notification content is as follows: “Thu Duc City Department of Education and Training announces: Student ..... has been admitted to school ......... Parents are requested to confirm online admission on the website https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn (search for results) and submit paper documents according to the appointment schedule at the school. For more information, see the school's website. Sincerely!”

For admission to grade 6, the integrated teaching and learning program of mathematics, science and English according to Decision No. 5695: The implementation organization at schools must ensure enough places for all students within the assigned quota and implement the Integrated English Program to ensure the continuity of the program; ensure adequate facilities, teaching equipment, and experimental practice for classes implementing the integrated program according to regulations of the Department of Education and Training. The number of students per class must not exceed 35 students.

Organized at secondary schools: Tran Quoc Toan 1, Luong Dinh Cua, An Phu, Nguyen Van Troi, Giong Ong To, Hoa Lu, Tran Quoc Toan, Hiep Phu, Phuoc Binh, Dang Tan Tai, Binh Tho, Le Quy Don and Linh Trung to ensure the continuity of the program from primary to secondary school.

Admission objects: Priority is given to students who have completed primary school according to the Integrated English Program; students residing in the ward who have completed the primary school program of the Ministry of Education and Training and have sufficient English proficiency to meet one of the following conditions.

For the 6th grade entrance exam : Admission to 6th grade will be conducted by reviewing application documents combined with taking a competency assessment test at the following secondary schools: Tran Quoc Toan 1, Hoa Lu, Binh Tho. The exam for the 3 schools will be conducted on the same day, with the same questions, organized by the Department of Education and Training.

Enrollment quota: Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School: 9 grade 6 classes with 315 students (including at least 4 integrated English classes). Hoa Lu Secondary School: 7 grade 6 classes with 245 students (including at least 2 integrated English classes). Binh Tho Secondary School: 8 grade 6 classes with 280 students (including at least 3 integrated English classes).

Admission time is as follows: Online registration time for the survey: expected from 8:00 a.m. on May 12 to 5:00 p.m. on May 14, 2025.

Application submission period: Expected from May 15, 2025 to 5:00 p.m. on May 17, 2025.

- Survey time: expected on May 24, 2025.

- Time to announce results: expected on May 30, 2025

- Time for registration for review (if any): expected from May 31, 2025 to June 1, 2025. Review result (if any): expected June 5, 2025.
