The volunteer team of about 50 people includes armed forces, doctors, youth union, women, delivery truck drivers, etc.
After a period of campaigning and calling, Ho Chi Minh City has sent the first shipments to people in the northern provinces affected by storms and floods.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, said that with the motto of providing the highest, fastest, and most timely support combined with each local condition, the front officials must actively participate in coordinating and supporting volunteers on the way to transport goods from the Southern people to send to the Northern people.
Giao thong Newspaper reporters recorded at the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City (District 1), dozens of tons of necessities, medicines... were delivered by departments, organizations, and people to provide relief to people in the flood-hit areas in the North.
District 10 militia and soldiers were mobilized to help transport drinking water, milk, noodles, nutritious food, life buoys, life buoys, rice... onto vehicles to bring for relief.
Life jackets, life buoys, ambulances, and canoe cranes are also ready to go to the people of the North.
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City also had relief shipments transported by air, rail, etc. to bring essential relief goods to people in the northern provinces in a timely manner.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, as of the afternoon of September 13, the City Relief Fund has received support from organizations, individuals, and businesses with an amount of more than 19.7 billion VND.
