The enrollment plan for preschool, grade 1, and grade 6 classes for the 2025-2026 school year, just officially issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, has special notes.
Accordingly, the City People's Committee requested the Departments of Education and Training to advise the People's Committee of Thu Duc City and districts to build flexible enrollment areas based on three factors: Distribution of schools in the locality, the number of children of enrollment age and information on current residence of students from the industry database. At the same time, combine the use of the City's shared digital map system to calculate the travel distance of students, not to allocate students according to the administrative boundaries of wards, in order to create conditions for students to study near their current residence and in accordance with the actual local situation.
For schools located on the border between localities, the Primary Admissions Steering Committee needs to develop a suitable admission plan, creating favorable conditions for students to study near their current place of residence.
Parents note important milestones for primary school admissions in 2025
This year, enrollment registration continues to be carried out online at: https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn (collectively referred to as the City's enrollment page) through the student's identification code and in compliance with the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, the information used in enrollment is guaranteed to be 100% extracted from the City's Education and Training database system. For units that need to connect data in other forms, it is necessary to ensure full compliance with the requirements on confidentiality and information security for both data transmission and reception.
- Admission objects are divided into 2 types, including:
+ Subject 1 : Priority admission for the following cases:
* For grade 1: Students whose current residence is within the area and within the prescribed age;
* For grade 6: Students whose current residence is in the area, have completed primary school and are within the prescribed age.
+ Subject 2 : Students who wish to study in an area other than their actual residence.
* For subject 2: The Steering Committee for Primary Admissions of Thu Duc City and districts need to issue documents clearly defining the subjects that are given priority for admission, creating a legal basis for classification. In particular, priority can be considered for admission in order of specific cases of each area such as: Students who have completed preschool or primary school in the area. Students whose father or mother works in the area (industrial parks, agencies, organizations located in the area). Students whose current residence according to VNeID is in the border areas between districts, counties and Thu Duc City. Students who have transferred provinces, students in specific cases of the locality.
Students in category 2 must ensure the following conditions: Register for admission on the city's admission system, meet the criteria in the local admission plan. The local primary admission steering committee can consider admission in order of subjects and priority regimes, ensuring compliance with the local admission plan and time frame issued by the Department of Education and Training.
As for Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School and some local secondary schools, admission can be conducted based on a combination of two criteria including training and learning results in primary school years and the results of the capacity assessment survey. In particular, local secondary schools must simultaneously meet two requirements: Having a number of candidates registering exceeding the enrollment quota in recent years and being proposed by localities to the Department of Education and Training.
The remaining secondary schools conduct admission based on the results of training and learning at the primary level and use data from digital maps to serve the work of allocating students, in which the admission areas of the schools are decided by the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, districts and counties according to the actual situation in the locality.
Admission results are announced online on the city's admissions page. Application submission is done online and according to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training.
