Ho Chi Minh City: Inauguration of a cluster of public schools meeting national standards in Tan Binh district

This morning, April 22, the People's Committee of Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City held an inauguration ceremony for a cluster of public schools built according to national standards, with all items fully complying with the infrastructure standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. The cluster consists of three schools: Son Ca Kindergarten, Hung Vuong Primary School and Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School - built on public works land (Ward 6, Tan Binh District).

This is one of the key projects under the 4,500 classroom project of Ho Chi Minh City, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

With this cluster of national standard schools, Tan Binh district has 95 more classrooms. Thereby, helping the whole district reach 301 classrooms per 10,000 school-age people according to the target of 300 classrooms per 10,000 school-age people set by the resolution of the 11th Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

This important target was completed ahead of schedule, contributing to affirming the project's investment efficiency and the district's determination to improve the quality of education.

Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School with 45 classrooms

The project also aims to promptly meet the demand for schools and ensure effective implementation of the 2018 General Education Program and the Project to ensure facilities for preschool and general education in the 2017-2025 period under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training.

In addition, the investment in building new, renovating and upgrading schools also contributes to perfecting the education network in the district, ensuring that 100% of students study 2 sessions/day, class size meets the prescribed standards, and gradually improves the quality of comprehensive education.

The items are implemented in full compliance with the facility standards according to Circular 13/2020 of the Ministry of Education and Training, creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the local education sector.

The project not only has educational significance but also contributes to upgrading urban infrastructure, improving landscape, traffic connection and promoting economic - cultural - social development in Tan Binh district. This project is a testament to the determination of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City in building a modern and comprehensive education system.

Delegates attended the ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate Hung Vuong Primary School with 30 classrooms.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, congratulated the Department of Education and Training of the city and Tan Binh district for bringing into the cluster of spacious, clean and beautiful national standard schools.

- Son Ca Kindergarten: Campus area is 6,348.5 m2; construction land area: 2,120.1 m2; total construction floor area: 7,750.2 m2. Scale is 1 ground floor, 3 floors, 20 classrooms, functional rooms and kitchen. Total investment is 122,393 billion VND.

- Hung Vuong Primary School: Campus area is 9,432.5 m2; construction land area: 3,322.4 m2; total construction floor area: 9,740.0 m2. Scale is 1 ground floor, 3 floors, 30 classrooms, functional rooms, kitchen, multi-purpose gymnasium. Total investment is 147,568 billion VND.

- Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School: Campus area is 12,283.5 m2; construction land area: 4,025.18 m2; total construction floor area: 13,121.98 m2. Scale is 1 ground floor, 3 floors, 45 classrooms, functional rooms, kitchen and swimming pool. Total investment is 196.896 billion VND.

- Traffic infrastructure and green parks: Construction of traffic infrastructure, technical infrastructure and support for investment in construction of public school cluster according to national standards on public works land in Ward 6, Tan Binh District.

Project scale: Chan Hung Street is 325.58 meters long, Hung Hoa Street is 214.39 meters long, Street No. 1 and Alley 769 Cach Mang Thang Tam are 322.93 meters long, Street No. 2 is 181.52 meters long, Street No. 3 is 126.75 meters long, Alley 783 Cach Mang Thang Tam is 139.27 meters long, the alley connecting Hung Hoa Street with Alley 783 Cach Mang Thang Tam is 77.46 meters long and the green park and sports area has an area of ​​10,991.51m2. The total investment is 690.001 billion VND (of which construction and installation cost: 109.258 billion VND; cost of supporting the process of using crops for farming by households to implement the project: 580.743 billion VND)
