For candidates registering for specialized grade 10, they will only be allowed to register for 2 options instead of 4 like previous years.

In which, the first specialized wish is to register for specialized grade 10 in 2 schools: Le Hong Phong Specialized High School and Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School;
With the second specialized wish, candidates can register in 4 high schools that usually have specialized classes: Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School and Gia Dinh High School, or can register the specialized wish in 2 specialized high schools.
For candidates applying for integrated grade 10, in addition to 3 grade 10 wishes, there will usually be 2 more integrated wishes in high schools that enroll integrated classes. Candidates who register for specialized wishes will not be allowed to register for integrated wishes and vice versa.
The reason for the adjustment, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, is that from the 2024-2025 school year, according to Circular 05/2023 of the Ministry of Education and Training on the regulations on organization and operation of specialized high schools, the city will stop enrolling regular grade 10 students in the two specialized high schools Le Hong Phong and Tran Dai Nghia. Therefore, the Department must adjust the number of wishes and the way to register for specialized wishes to comply with the above circular.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City will continue to apply online registration of 10th grade wishes to promote digital transformation applications and avoid virtual applications.
Students who do not pass all three wishes can register for grade 10 admission at continuing education centers, vocational education - continuing education centers, private schools or participate in other types of education and training.
The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City 10th grade entrance exam is expected to take place in early June 2024. Candidates will take 3 subjects: Literature, Math and Foreign Language. Of which, Literature and Math have 120 minutes each, Foreign Language has 90 minutes.
