In the event that National Highway 13 in the Central Highlands is closed, vehicles from Binh Phuoc and Binh Duong provinces going to the Western provinces such as Long An and Tien Giang will be diverted in the direction of turning left from National Highway 13 onto DT741 at So Sao intersection, then following the My Phuoc - Tan Van - Pham Ngoc Thach - Huynh Van Cu route.
Another direction is from National Highway 13, turn right onto Nguyen Van Long Street, continue to turn right onto Huynh Van Cu Street, cross Phu Cuong Bridge, then turn left onto Ha Duy Phien Street, then turn right onto Vo Van Bich, continue to turn left onto Do Van Day Street, cross Ba Trieu Street, turn left onto Xuyen A Street, then turn right onto National Highway 1, continue through Binh Tri Dong, Tan Tao, Cho Dem to Ho Chi Minh City, then follow Trung Luong route to Ap Bac (My Tho City) or onto National Highway 50 and vice versa.
In case National Highway 1 North to the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City is blocked, vehicles from Binh Thuan and Dong Nai to the Western provinces will be regulated in many directions.
One option is from Bien Hoa, the car will follow National Highway 1 through 30/4 Park, to Nguyen Ai Quoc Street, continue to Hoa An Bridge, then turn right onto Bui Huu Nghia Street (old Provincial Road DT16), continue along DT747A, at Tan Ba intersection, turn onto DT747B, then to Ong Cu Temple intersection, continue along DT743A, at Shijar intersection, turn right onto My Phuoc - Tan Van, at My Phuoc - Tan Van and Pham Ngoc Thach intersection, turn left onto Pham Ngoc Thach, at Phuoc Kien intersection, turn right onto Huynh Van Cu Street, then cross Phu Cuong Bridge, continue to turn left onto Ha Duy Phien, then turn right onto Vo Van Bich, to Xang Bridge, continue along District Road 65B, then Thanh Nien Street, then follow DT824, DT9, to Duc Hoa Bridge, cross N2 Road (at Long Thanh) to Long An and vice versa.
In addition, vehicles from Binh Thuan can follow the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway to Ba Bau intersection (km 00), Xuan Loc intersection (km 63), National Highway 56 intersection or Dau Giay intersection to enter the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, to Ho Chi Minh City.
Another direction is to go to the intersection of National Highway 1A and Vo Nguyen Giap Street, follow Vo Nguyen Giap Street to the roundabout at gate 11, turn left onto National Highway 51, then continue onto the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway.
You can also go from Tri An intersection, turn right onto DT767 road, to Co Cay Xoai road, then continue onto DT768, cross Thu Bien bridge (DT746, Bac Tan Uyen district), go through Binh Duong along the routes of Thu Dau Mot city to enter Ho Chi Minh city.
In another option, vehicles arriving at Vung Tau intersection can turn left onto National Highway 51 to enter Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway or turn right across An Hao Bridge, Buu Hoa Bridge, continue onto the old Provincial Road DT16, to the intersection of National Highway 1K and Bui Huu Nghia Street to enter Binh Duong.
When the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway is closed, vehicles from the Western provinces such as Long An, Tien Giang to the Central Highlands provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dak Nong will go from My Tho City along National Highway 60, to the Trung Luong roundabout, then continue along National Highway 1, to DT866, then switch to National Highway 62, continue along National Highway N2 (the Western North - South Expressway), turn right onto DT823, then follow DT08 to Thu Dau Mot City and vice versa.
In case the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is blocked, there are two scenarios to consider. When the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway is congested, vehicles from Binh Thuan and Dong Nai entering Ho Chi Minh City will go to Long Thanh intersection, turn right onto National Highway 51, turn left onto National Highway 1A at Vung Tau intersection, cross Dong Nai bridge to enter Ho Chi Minh City.
Another direction is from National Highway 51, turn to Nhon Trach intersection, continue along Highway 25B, take Cat Lai ferry to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa.
In case of congestion on Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, traffic diversion will be implemented on National Highway 51 at many locations.
At km63, vehicles will turn from the Ba Ria central roundabout onto Nguyen Huu Tho Street, then onto Hung Vuong Street, and at Hoa Long roundabout, turn left onto National Highway 56 to go to Dong Nai.
At km62, vehicles will follow Nguyen Huu Canh Street, turn left onto Le Trong Tan, then turn right onto Van Tien Dung, continue to turn left onto 3/2 Street, then turn right onto Mo Xoai Street, and turn left onto National Highway 56 at Hoa Long roundabout.
At km54, the car will follow Hoi Bai - Chau Pha road, enter road number 1, reach Duc My roundabout then turn left onto National Highway 56.
At km44+300, the car will follow Highway 8, turn left at Toc Tien intersection to Hac Dich roundabout, then turn right onto My Xuan - Hoa Binh road, continue to Ngai Giao roundabout then turn left onto National Highway 56.
At km37, vehicles will follow Phuoc Binh road, turn right to Hac Dich roundabout, continue to turn left along My Xuan - Ngai Giao road, at Ngai Giao roundabout, turn left onto National Highway 56 to Dong Nai and continue to Ho Chi Minh City.
In the event that National Highway 22 cannot enter the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, vehicles from Tay Ninh to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa will go from Trang Bang town (Tay Ninh) along Highway 822, turn left at Highway N2, then enter Highway 823, continue along the Trans-Asia Highway, cross the Cu Chi overpass to enter Ho Chi Minh City.
In case National Highway 1 from Long An to Ho Chi Minh City is blocked, the traffic diversion plan is divided according to vehicle type. Cars will follow National Highway 1, then enter National Highway 62 and continue along the Trung Luong - Ho Chi Minh City Expressway. Meanwhile, two-wheeled vehicles will follow National Highway 1, then enter National Highway 62, then switch to National Highway N2, continue along DT824 (Duc Hoa), then go onto DT09 to Hoc Mon or follow DT825 (Duc Hoa), continue along DT10 to pass Binh Chanh and enter Ho Chi Minh City.
The Traffic Police Department said that when there is a request to divert traffic and resolve traffic jams from a distance, the Traffic Police commander at the location of the traffic jam must immediately report to the leaders of the provincial or municipal police, and at the same time report to the leaders of the Traffic Police Department. Along with that, it must notify the heads of the Traffic Police Departments of the relevant localities to coordinate the implementation of the plan, under the unified management of the Traffic Police Department.
Traffic situation, congestion and route diversion must be promptly informed on mass media, helping people to grasp and choose appropriate routes, avoid going to congested areas, and comply with instructions and regulations of functional forces.
Police of relevant units and localities, upon receiving a request for coordination in traffic diversion, must promptly deploy measures to ensure traffic order and safety, organize checkpoints, and regulate traffic according to the approved plan.
