Ho Chi Minh City allocates 7,568 billion VND to clear land for 2 sections of Ring Road 2
In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will allocate 7,568 billion VND to clear the land for 2 sections of Ring Road 2 through Thu Duc City to prepare for construction to start next year.
Thu Duc City People's Committee has just issued Document No. 8194/UBND-VP reporting to Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the progress of compensation, support, and resettlement of 2 sections of the Ring Road 2 Project through Thu Duc City.
Of which, the section from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street (section 1), length 3.5 km (including Binh Thai intersection), reclaimed area is 47.6 ha. The total number of cases expected to be affected is 893 cases, including 872 households and 21 organizations.
The public investment capital allocated in 2024 to clear the site for this section is 5,825.7 billion VND.

For the section from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street (section 2), 2.4 km long, the expected area to be recovered is 13.4 hectares.
The total number of cases expected to be affected is 258, including 253 households and 5 organizations. The public investment capital allocated in 2024 for site clearance is 1,742 billion VND.
Regarding the progress of implementation, Thu Duc City People's Committee said that up to now, it has completed the establishment and approval of the current status map of the project's land acquisition boundary; located and marked the boundary in the field; issued a land acquisition notice; and inventoried the current status of houses and land in affected cases.
Currently, units are focusing on implementing the work of legal confirmation of real estate, collecting information to prepare for land valuation, etc.
To ensure the progress of site clearance, Thu Duc City proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issue a decision to replace or adjust Decision No. 28/2018/QD-UBND on compensation, support, and resettlement when the State reclaims land in Ho Chi Minh City, which stipulates the principles and methods for appraising the selling price of apartments for resettlement.
In addition, while waiting for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to approve the issuance of a common land price list, it is recommended that the City People's Committee adjust and supplement Decision No. 02/2020/QD-UBND dated January 16, 2020 on the land price list, in which only local adjustments and supplements are made to the locations in the land price list in the project resettlement area in order to promptly include it in the compensation, support and resettlement plan to get people's opinions before approval according to regulations.
Ring Road 2, Ho Chi Minh City is 64 km long, up to now 50 km has been completed and put into use, 14 km is not yet closed.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is researching to close the remaining 14 km, divided into 4 sections.
- Section 1 from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street, 3.5 km long, total investment of 9,328 billion VND from the budget.
- Section 2 from Vo Nguyen Giap Street to Pham Van Dong Street, 2.5 km long, total investment of 4,543 billion VND from the budget.
- Section 3 from Pham Van Dong Street to Go Dua intersection (National Highway 1), 2.7 km long, total investment of 2,765 billion VND invested in the form of BT.
- Section 4, from National Highway 1A to Nguyen Van Linh Street, 5.3 km long, currently has no capital arrangement for investment.
