Ho Chi Minh City begins to collect public opinions on draft land price list

Accordingly, the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has conducted a survey and poll of public opinion on the Internet among cadres, party members, union members, and people living and working in the city, to assess people's interest and suggestions related to the draft land price list expected to be applied in Ho Chi Minh City.

The issue of adjusting land price list and applying it at the present time has made many people worried.

Previously, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City submitted a draft adjusted land price list with the goal of bringing current land prices closer to market prices. Therefore, the land price list in the draft is different from the old land price list applied from 2020, with an increase of 5 to 30 times.

In particular, on some central routes such as Dong Khoi, Le Loi, Nguyen Hue (District 1), the highest land price is up to 810 million VND/m2; Lam Son Square road has the highest price of up to 579.5 million VND/m2; Ton Duc Thang street (from Me Linh Square to Nguyen Tat Thanh bridge) has the highest price of up to 528 million VND/m2...

After the information was announced, this draft received many mixed opinions. In particular, many experts said that the current land price adjustment is not suitable, creating great financial pressure, especially for people who need to change the land use purpose from agricultural to residential land. Most people think that the land price adjustment should have a roadmap so that people have time to adapt.

Regarding this issue, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also held a conference on social criticism on the draft decision to adjust the land price list in the city on August 12. At the conference, experts and lawyers also pointed out many impacts of applying the adjusted land price list at the present time on people and businesses.
