Ha Long City: Nearly 1 billion VND to socialize playground and swimming pool for children

In order to create a healthy environment for young pioneers, teenagers and children to study, practice, play and develop comprehensively, Ha Long City has promoted the socialization of playgrounds and swimming pools for children in the city. Up to now, the city has nearly 40 playgrounds and swimming pools put into use from socialized sources with a budget of nearly 1 billion VND.

Statistics from 2023 to present, Ha Long City Youth Union has organized a program to support the construction of playgrounds for children in the area with an amount of nearly 650 million VND. Accordingly, 30 playgrounds and swimming pools have been installed with sports equipment for teenagers and children, mainly concentrated in the city's mountainous communes.

At the same time, Ha Long City Youth Union also organized hundreds of free swimming classes; established 32 youth volunteer teams to prevent accidents and drowning in communes and wards; and presented nearly 1,000 life jackets to union members and young people.

It is expected that by the end of 2025, Ha Long City Youth Union will build at least 15 more public playgrounds and 3 swimming pool models for children in the city.

In the first quarter of 2025, Cao Xanh Ward People's Committee mobilized nearly 300 million VND from social resources to build 5 playgrounds for children.

Along with the launch of Ha Long City Youth Union, communes and wards have also proactively promoted the socialization of children's playgrounds. Typically, in Cao Xanh ward, in the first quarter of 2025 alone, 5 playgrounds in the ward were completed and put into use with a total cost of nearly 300 million VND, becoming community activity spots that are supported by the people. Cao Xanh ward People's Committee is continuing to mobilize socialization to ensure that by the end of 2025, all 10/10 neighborhoods in the ward will have playgrounds for people, especially children.
