In Ha Long City, there are currently 77 youth union bases with nearly 13,000 union members . The rate of youth participating in the union organization is 70%. In recent times, all levels, sectors and union organizations have always focused on educating revolutionary ethics, cultural lifestyle, civic awareness , forming a generation of young people rich in ideals, with revolutionary ethics, ambition, spirit and practical capacity .
The Ha Long City Party Committee has focused on directing Party committees at all levels, Party building committees, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations together with the Youth Union, based on their functions and tasks, to thoroughly direct and disseminate the goals, tasks and solutions to strengthen the Party's leadership over youth work, education of revolutionary ideals, ethics and cultural lifestyle for the young generation.
The City Party Committee's Propaganda Department regularly directs propaganda, political and ideological education, raising awareness of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought, the Party's renewal guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; combining moral education, lifestyle, and revolutionary traditions for the younger generation. Over the past 10 years, the entire city has produced over 16,500 news, articles, and reports; 2,300 signs and boards; 42,000 propaganda banners of all kinds... for young union members.
The Propaganda Department of the Ha Long City Party Committee coordinated with the Organization Department of the City Party Committee, the City Political Center and the Party Committees of high schools in the area to organize 20 classes to foster awareness of the Party for over 400 outstanding students at high schools. As a result, 33 high school students were admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
At the same time, the city also organizes many meaningful programs and activities that combine theory with practice, educate the tradition of patriotism, national pride, train revolutionary ethics, foster ideals, spirit of setting an example, and dedication to the community for young union members. From 2020 to present, the city has organized 4 concentrated admission sessions for 232 party members on the occasion of major holidays, such as: 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 75th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; 90th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; 60th anniversary of the founding of the province...
Ha Long City Youth Union also creatively and effectively implemented the campaign "Ha Long Youth Study and Follow Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Lifestyle". From 2008 to present, the City Youth Union has successfully organized nearly 1,000 forums and discussions with topics revolving around the campaign; organized to honor 850 outstanding youths and children who follow Uncle Ho's teachings.
100% of the Youth Union bases have implemented learning, research, and discussion on topics related to the movement; built and maintained the operation of 185 Uncle Ho bookcases. Promoted traditional education for young union members through practical actions of the youth such as: "Candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs", "Journey to the homeland's sea and islands", "Youth with spring at the border"...
Along with that, the work of educating ethics and lifestyle for young union members continues to be maintained in many new forms, focusing on educating and raising awareness of young citizens to strive to establish themselves, build a career, live a cultured, affectionate life, and be responsible for themselves, their families and society. All levels and sectors of the city always guide young people to participate in the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, and maintain national defense and security.
Many models of building a lifestyle and cultural lifestyle for young people have been implemented, such as the programs: "When I am 18", "Semester in the army", "Learning to be a useful person", "Learning from nature"... attracting over 150,000 young union members to participate. The city's youth union organizations also implemented the content of studying 5 political theory lessons for young union members. Thereby contributing to raising political awareness, creating trust and knowledge for young people in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.
Not only that, the Youth Union units promptly fought and propagated to clarify the tricks and false arguments, helping young people understand and actively fight against the "peaceful evolution" plot of hostile forces. Regularly posting propaganda information on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; focusing on conveying positive information with the motto "Using beauty to eliminate ugliness". Posting examples of good people and good deeds, beautiful and humane stories on social networking sites such as Facebook, Zalo, etc. has also been increased.
Thanks to that, for many years, the ideological situation of the Youth Union in Ha Long City has always been stable, well implementing the policies and laws of the Party and the State. Ha Long City Youth Union has always been one of the political and social organizations that have been assessed to have excellently fulfilled their tasks, contributing to the stability and emulation results of the entire City Party Committee over the past many years.
