Bac Lieu City: Meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day

* Presented nearly 60 gifts to meritorious people and rewarded 16 excellent groups

On the afternoon of April 21, Bac Lieu City solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). Attending the meeting were comrade Huynh Chi Nguyen - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; leaders of the Military Command, departments, offices, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, wards and communes. In particular, the city respectfully welcomed Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, relatives of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, historical witnesses, cadres and soldiers participating in the liberation of Bac Lieu, and comrades who are senior cadres in the Party.

The meeting took place in an extremely proud atmosphere, with many meaningful contents such as: a cultural program with heroic revolutionary songs; delegates were able to watch a documentary film about the liberation of Bac Lieu and the development achievements after 50 years of national liberation; especially, delegates were able to listen to touching, tragic, and extremely proud stories told by veteran revolutionaries and historical witnesses at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Bac Lieu City People's Committee - Tran Minh Hai, on behalf of the city's leaders and the current generation, expressed his gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh - the genius leader, national liberation hero, outstanding cultural figure of Vietnam, who has made our nation and our country glorious. Along with that, countless compatriots and comrades have bravely and steadfastly "determined to die for the Fatherland", forever grateful for the boundless sacrifices of the heroic Vietnamese mothers, soldiers of the intelligence force, the military force, the wounded soldiers, the families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the country, the youth volunteer force, the youth volunteers... who have contributed to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, for the life and happiness of the people.

Promoting the revolutionary achievements passed down by our ancestors, 50 years since the country's reunification, under the leadership of the Party and the consensus of the entire people, Bac Lieu City has overcome countless difficulties and challenges, step by step built and defended the Fatherland, and achieved great and historic achievements in all fields. Typically, Bac Lieu City's economy grew by about 8-9% per year; budget revenue increased gradually each year; the city resolutely implemented tasks and completed targets to be recognized as a class I urban area. The work of Party building, government building and mobilizing people to respond to patriotic emulation movements has created strong changes and achieved many important results. Cadres, civil servants and party members believe in the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; especially the trust of the people continues to be consolidated, making an important contribution to the stability, protection and development of the city...

Secretary of Bac Lieu City Party Committee - To Viet Thu commended the collective that contributed to the development of Bac Lieu City after 50 years of national liberation.

On this occasion, the city presented nearly 60 gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Armed Forces Heroes, revolutionary veterans, and historical witnesses; the City People's Committee also commended 16 collectives with outstanding achievements contributing to the local development after 50 years of liberating the South and reunifying the country.
