Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 2025 from 893 million, not yet sold but already "sold out"

Toyota has always had a tendency to tweak its iconic models rather than completely redesign them, and the facelifted 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series is a clear proof of that. The Japanese automaker has just introduced a slightly improved version of this large SUV in the domestic market.

The 2025 version of the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 SUV has no design changes compared to August 2021. Instead, Toyota focuses on improving the technology of this model. The most noticeable changes come from the interior of the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300.

The mid-range and high-end versions now come with a 12.3-inch TFT digital instrument cluster with a customizable interface. The base version, meanwhile, only gets a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster. The car's infotainment system comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen. However, customers can upgrade to a larger 12.3-inch display if they want.

In order to reduce the situation of Land Cruiser being the most stolen car model in Japan, Toyota has added a series of new anti-theft features to the car. First is the “My Car Start Lock” system, which allows the owner to remotely lock the engine via smartphone, preventing thieves from starting the engine.

In addition, all versions are also equipped with a start button integrated with fingerprint recognition, a system to check if the smart key is near the car or not, a warning with a tilt sensor and an Immobilizer engine encryption system.

To comply with the latest safety regulations in Japan, the new Land Cruiser LC300 has an upgraded collision mitigation braking system and added a pre-collision safety feature that can detect cyclists. It also has an event data recorder and improved network security.

Under the hood of this SUV, there are no changes. The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 still uses a 3.5L twin-turbocharged V6 gasoline engine and a 3.3L V6 diesel engine, combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time 4-wheel drive.

However, Toyota says the diesel engine now meets Japan's latest emissions standards. The 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300's price in the Japanese market starts at 5,252,500 yen (about 893 million VND) for the standard GX gasoline version.

Meanwhile, the GR Sport version using a diesel engine costs up to 8,136,800 Yen (about 1.383 billion VND). Compared to the old version, the car price has increased from 130,900 - 152,500 Yen (22.2 - 26 million VND), depending on the version.

However, rising prices are not the biggest problem for Japanese customers, at least for now. Demand for the Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 has always far outstripped supply in the domestic market, leading to a waiting list that lasts for years.

It is known that to avoid overloading orders for the new generation Land Cruiser LC300, Toyota has decided to temporarily stop accepting orders until it can deliver cars to customers who have pre-ordered.

The Japanese automaker also issued an official apology on its website: “Thank you for your interest in our products. The Land Cruiser 300 has been upgraded to comply with the new regulations. We have temporarily suspended taking orders to prioritize production for customers who have pre-ordered and are awaiting delivery.

We understand that many customers in Japan are still waiting for their vehicles to be delivered, and we will do our best to maximize production and deliver vehicles as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask for your understanding.”
