Chinese companies are leading the ranking of the 10 companies holding the most AI patents in the world.
The explosion of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to a surge in patents. Generative AI patent families have grown from 733 in 2014 to more than 14,000 in 2023, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Despite the US's desire to curb China's advancement in AI through trade restrictions, mainland companies still excel when it comes to holding AI patents.
