Speaking at a press conference, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro wished Trump “good health and longevity” and wished peace to the American people, sharing his sympathy that Maduro himself had been the victim of “hundreds” of attacks and assassination attempts.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Platform for Democratic Unity (PUD), the main opposition coalition in Venezuela, also condemned the assassination of Mr. Trump, declaring their rejection of political violence in general, and expressing support for “peace and democratic civilization” in this South American country and the entire continent.

Cuban state media, which carried a message from President Diaz-Canel, also criticized the attack, stressing that: “As a victim of attacks and terrorism for 65 years, Havana affirms its position of condemning all forms of violence.”

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla also condemned the assassination of the US Republican candidate.

Reuters news agency also quoted a statement from the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry condemning the assassination plot, while emphasizing "full solidarity with the United States, the former president and his family, and opposing all forms of violence."

In addition, Saudi Arabia also expressed "condolences to the families of the deceased and the friendly people of the United States, and wished the injured victims a speedy recovery."

Meanwhile, AFP news agency reported that Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, who has just recovered from an assassination attempt in May, saw similarities between the attack on former US President Donald Trump and the incident he experienced.

Sharing on his personal page, Prime Minister Fico stated: “The scenario is like a copy. If the attacker of Mr. Donald Trump spoke Slovak, he would only need to read the (local) newspapers Dennik N, Sme to arrange everything correctly."

Prime Minister Fico, 59, was hit by four bullets at close range after a government meeting in central Vietnam on May 15. He underwent two lengthy surgeries in hospital and returned to work last week.
