The Israeli army has expanded its wave of attacks to the Syrian capital Damascus.
Tel Aviv carried out the raid on the night of October 8 local time and hit a residential building in the Mezzah neighborhood of the capital Damascus. The area is home to several diplomatic and government buildings, including the Iranian diplomatic complex, which Israel attacked in April.
Seven Syrians, including women and children, were killed in the airstrike, according to Syria's SANA news agency. Sources said the Israelis targeted a Hezbollah official they said was involved in smuggling weapons into Lebanon. His fate is still unknown.
