KEMLU. Indonesian authorities are conducting training to improve the skills and qualifications of human resources working in special areas in the new capital Nusantara (IKN).

ANTARA. Indonesian police arrest four suspects for smuggling a baby Komodo dragon from a conservation island in East Nusa Tenggara province.

West Manggarai Police Deputy Chief Budi Guna Putra said the stolen baby Komodo dragons were between four and six months old and were sold for between $600 and $800 to people in Bali and Java.

KHMER TIMES. Cambodia exported milled rice to Indonesia for the first time, with the first shipment arriving at the port of Semarang city in Central Java province on November 2.

THE NATION. Thailand welcomed more than 22 million foreign tourists in the first 10 months of this year, thanks in part to the government's visa-free policy.

ANADOLU. UAE and Jordan sign $6 billion Memorandum of Understanding to promote investment and development projects, aiming to further deepen bilateral economic ties.

AFP. Countries such as the US, UK, France, Austria, Australia and Japan confirmed that their citizens had left the Gaza Strip safely and reached Egypt through the Rafah border crossing.

TIMES OF ISRAEL. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has criticized Colombia and Chile for recalling their ambassadors to Israel in protest of the conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Europe

ARMENPRESS. Armenia's National Security Service announced the arrest of five suspects involved in a planned terrorist attack targeting government institutions.

APA. EU inaugurates the headquarters of the EU Civilian Monitoring Mission (EUMA) in Yeghenadzor, Armenia.

TASS. Russia and Cuba signed a program of economic and trade cooperation until 2030 to promote trade and investment growth, as well as strengthen ties between the two countries' business communities.

America

CNBC. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will return to Israel today, November 3, with a busy agenda that will have a strong impact on the upcoming conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

CNN. The US Senate has confirmed former Treasury Secretary Jack Lew , President Joe Biden's nominee, as the next US Ambassador to Israel, despite Republican opposition.

BLOOMBERG. The US has announced a new package of sanctions against Russia amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, targeting Arctic LNG 2 and several other individuals and entities.

NBC. The Biden administration is committed to expanding trade and investment with countries in the Indo-Pacific region, according to US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

AP. The Mexican government has approved a $3.4 billion financial aid package to help rebuild the coastal resort city of Acapulco, which was devastated by Hurricane Otis.

FINANCIAL TIMES. Water shortages due to prolonged drought have forced the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) to gradually reduce the number of ships allowed to pass through the canal each day.

NEWS24. Ministers from some 40 sub-Saharan African countries, which benefit from the African Growth and Opportunity Act ( AGOA ), met with US envoys from November 2-4 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

AFP. Several soldiers from the UN peacekeeping mission in Mali (MINUSMA) were “ seriously injured ” during their withdrawal from the country when their convoy was attacked by an improvised explosive device (IED).

CGTN. Niger's military government has begun operating a nearly 2,000-km pipeline transporting crude oil to neighboring Benin, selling crude on the international market for the first time, via Benin's Seme port.

Niger Prime Minister Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine said resources from the pipeline would be used to "ensure the country's sovereignty and development".

RIO NEWS. Brazilian President Lula da Silva has signed a decree to temporarily militarize security at some of the country's most important seaports and airports in an effort to crack down on crime.

AFRICA NEWS. More than 260 Libyan and international companies are attending a forum in Benghazi organized by the eastern government, with the aim of rebuilding Derna after much of the port city was devastated by floods.

YONHAP. ​​South Korea and Australia conducted their ninth annual bilateral naval exercise in waters east of the Korean Peninsula to enhance joint operations and coordination.

9NEWS. The recent increase in Covid-19 cases in all Australian states and territories is a sign of the beginning of a new wave of infections.
