Speaking to reporters after his meeting with President To Lam during his state visit to Vietnam on June 20, the Russian President emphasized the developing bilateral partnership in the agricultural sector.
"The mutual supply of agricultural products is increasing and the variety of products is becoming more diverse. Vietnam's TH Group is building dairy processing plants in several regions of Russia, including the Kaluga and Primorye regions."
"Last year, the construction of the first part of a livestock complex on the outskirts of Moscow with a capacity of 6,000 dairy cows was completed," Putin said, citing TH Group as an example of the partnership between the two countries in the agricultural sector.
According to TH Group, the project mentioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin is a high-tech dairy farming and processing complex being implemented in the Russian Federation with a scale of up to 2.7 billion USD. To date, this is the largest overseas agricultural project invested by Vietnam.

A desire to express gratitude to Russia, stemming from Vietnamese moral principles.
In numerous interviews with the media regarding her reasons for choosing to invest in Russia, Ms. Thai Huong, the founder of the Group, shared that it was due to her love for Russia. She sees this as a gesture of gratitude to Russia for its selfless support and assistance to Vietnam during the war.
In addition, TH's move to Russia also aimed to seize the "golden opportunity" in business, recognizing the enormous potential and business opportunities there.
TH Group launched its dairy farming and milk processing complex project in the Russian Federation at a time when Russia was facing difficulties due to sanctions, and Russian citizens were experiencing shortages of milk and dairy products.
Statistics from 2013 to 2017 show that Russia produced approximately 20 million tons of raw milk domestically, accounting for 76% of its total raw milk production.
TH imports approximately 7 million tons of milk annually, accounting for 24% of its total milk imports. This represents a significant market opportunity that TH has recognized.
"Following the Russian Federation's milk shortage map strategy not only ensures the project's feasibility, minimizes costs, transportation time, and product distribution, but also contributes to Russia's increased self-sufficiency in milk and dairy products. Furthermore, the project aims for export, especially to the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets," Ms. Thai Huong shared.
In September 2017, within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok, Ms. Thai Huong had the honor of meeting, having dinner with, and discussing investment plans in agriculture in Russia with President Vladimir Putin.
The founder of TH Group is the only woman among the 40 investors granted an audience with President Vladimir Putin, and one of five foreign investors invited to speak.
After listening to her presentation of the plan, President Vladimir Putin assessed Ms. Thai Huong as a talented businesswoman who had presented a perfect action plan, befitting an international entrepreneur.

The project aims to foster a sense of connection between the Russian people and Vietnamese brands.
When investing in Russia, the founder of TH Group assessed that the Russian Federation government - led by President Putin - had appropriate policies to awaken and unleash the enormous agricultural potential of the country.
For TH, Russia applies a policy of reimbursing up to 30% of the cost of building dairy farms, offering preferential interest rates of 3/4, and providing financial support for each herd of purebred cows… Along with that, the infrastructure, logistics, energy systems, etc., are constantly being improved.
According to Ms. Thai Huong, Russia's policies to encourage agricultural investment are very transparent and attractive, encouraging domestic and international investors to focus on this sector. In fact, TH's projects have received full support and assistance from the federal and local governments.
Currently, TH farms in the Russian Federation have more than 6,000 dairy cows.
To date, TH Group's project in Russia has made solid progress, becoming a highlight of Vietnam-Russia economic cooperation.
In the provinces and territories where the project is being implemented, TH Group has invested hundreds of millions of USD in modern machinery, transforming tens of thousands of hectares of land that had been abandoned for decades in Russia into fertile fields. These high-tech dairy farms have provided job opportunities for many local people.

At the groundbreaking ceremony for TH Group's dairy farming and milk processing project in the Far East, Mr. Korenchuk Alexey Alexandrovich - District Head of Yakovlevsky District, Primorsky Region, emphasized that TH is a highly professional foreign investor.
"I am confident the project will be successful. At this time, I just want to express my gratitude on behalf of the people of Yakovlevsky district and the people of Russia to TH Group for investing in our homeland," said Mr. Korenchuk Alexey Alexandrovich.
In fact, TH has demonstrated that it possesses the technology, personnel, and experience, and is accelerating the efficient implementation of projects in Russia.
TH Group has achieved success in Vietnam with its dairy farming and high-tech fresh milk processing projects, becoming a pioneering fresh milk enterprise, laying the foundation for the clean fresh milk industry and creating a clean fresh milk revolution in Vietnam.
Those experiences served as a "guidebook" to bring TH into Russia and continue to pioneer achievements in this market, becoming a bright spot in the friendly relations between Vietnam and Russia, contributing to strengthening the good relationship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
TH's dairy project in Russia has created many jobs for local workers.
Currently, the TH farm in Moscow province has nearly 3,000 dairy cows, with half of them producing milk. TH is completing the farm's expansion to accommodate 6,000 milking cows (bringing the total herd to 12,000).
In Kaluga province, TH's farm has a total herd of 3,300 cows. A 500-ton capacity dairy factory is currently under construction in Phase 1 of the Kaluga Industrial Park.
In the Far East region, TH Group has just commenced a dairy project with an investment of 19 billion rubles, involving 6,000 dairy cows (out of a total herd of 12,000). Since 2021, TH has been reclaiming land and planting soybeans.
In 2024, TH plans to cultivate soybeans on 2,150 hectares and reclaim approximately 5,200 hectares of land. In 2025, it will reclaim more than 4,000 hectares of land, bringing the total of 13,000 hectares into cultivation.
TH's fields in Moscow and Kaluga provinces are considered model fields, chosen as venues for planting competitions and agricultural exhibitions. Dairy farms are also developing day by day as a result.
