According to the forecast of VTsIOM conducted at the request of the Institute of Social Research Experts (EISRI), incumbent President Vladimir Putin may receive more than 80% of the votes in the upcoming presidential election.
“ The estimated voter turnout in the upcoming Russian presidential election is 71%. Of these, Putin could receive 82% of the votes ,” VTsIOM points out.

Meanwhile, the support rate for other candidates such as Mr. Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of Russia - KPRF) is forecast to be 6%, Mr. Vladislav Davankov (New People's Party) - 6% and Mr. Leonid Slutsky (Liberal Democratic Party - LDPR) - 5%.
In addition, according to another forecast by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), President Putin could receive 80% of the votes, followed by Mr. Kharitonov (5.7%), Slutsky (5.6%) and Mr. Davankov (4.6%). According to the Russian presidential election law, it is forbidden to publish opinion polls related to the presidential election within 5 days before the final voting day and on the election day itself. The Central Election Commission of Russia announced that the upcoming Russian presidential election will take place from March 15-17, which will be the first time that the election will be held over 3 days. Online voting will take place in 29 regions across the country.
