* The French President declared his readiness for dialogue with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the podcast Génération Do It Yourself (GDIY) .

French President Emmanuel Macron said: “I believe in the power of dialogue… There has been none in the past few months, but I do not rule out the possibility of dialogue on one topic or another, including the issue of nuclear power plants. Honestly speaking, I believe that it is always important to continue dialogue.” (TASS)

* President Macron has come under fire from leaders of both the left and right in France after warning that a victory by the far-right National Rally (RN) or the left-wing coalition New Popular Front in the upcoming snap election could trigger a “civil war”.

Conservative Republican Party leader Eric Ciotti accused Mr Macron's remarks of being "irresponsible" and part of the French president's "strategy of fear".

Meanwhile, RN's second president Marine Le Pen said the above arguments showed that Mr. Macron "thinks he has lost this election".

The head of the Socialist Party in the Senate, Patrick Kanner, said that President Macron's statements showed that he was fighting for his "political survival".

France is preparing for the first round of parliamentary elections on June 30, which is considered the most divisive vote in recent decades. (AFP)

* The European Union (EU) has launched accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova, a landmark move that could decide the future of the two Eastern European countries as Russia continues its military campaign in Ukraine.

Speaking as the 27 EU countries signed an agreement to start negotiations, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: "These are truly historic moments. We are and will always be part of a united Europe. Millions of Ukrainians and indeed generations of our people are realizing their European dream." (AFP)

* Ukraine has called on NATO to make a “strong” decision on its membership at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Washington in July.

President Zelensky's foreign policy adviser Ihor Zhovkva made the call, expressing his wish that the NATO Summit end with concrete results because otherwise, "the summit will be useless." (Reuters)

* Trump's Ukraine peace plan and Russia's conditions: On June 25, two key advisers presented former US President Donald Trump with a plan to end the conflict in Ukraine in case he wins the race to return to the White House. Accordingly, Kiev will only receive more US weapons if it participates in peace talks.

Regarding this, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia does not yet know the details of the above plan, but affirmed that the value of any peace plan needs to take into account the opinions of the parties as well as the situation on the ground.

According to Mr. Peskov, President Putin has repeatedly affirmed that Moscow is still ready to negotiate, however, the Russian leader's recent peace proposals have not been accepted by the West and Ukraine.

* Russian frigate Admiral Gorshkov is training in the Atlantic Ocean, practicing search and tracking tactics for submarines, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry.

At a distance of more than 50 km from the ship, the pilots carried out a series of submarine search measures. A total of 5 landings were made on the deck of the ship. (Telegram)

* Russia and Iran will sign a new comprehensive cooperation agreement “in the very near future,” according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, but few details are available about the content of the agreement.

The old text of the agreement, signed in 2001 and automatically renewed for another five years in 2020, called for cooperation in the fields of security, energy (including the peaceful use of nuclear energy and the construction of nuclear power plants), industry and technology. (TASS)

* Germany-France-Poland cooperate to buy long-range precision weapons to fill a "serious capability gap" in the European arsenal after the period of supplying to Ukraine.

* Philippines wants dialogue with China on disputes in the East Sea : On June 25, Philippine Foreign Minister Enrique Manalo affirmed that the country is actively making efforts to bring China back to the negotiating table to resolve disputes in the East Sea.

Speaking at a Senate hearing, Manalo said the two countries held a working group meeting last week to prepare for a possible Bilateral Consultative Mechanism meeting in July. (Reuters)

* US-Philippines joint exercise in the South China Sea: Four US Marine Corps F-35B Lighting II aircraft dropped seven GBU-32 guided bombs on floating targets off the coast of the western Philippine island of Luzon during a joint exercise between the two countries called Maritime Air Support Activity (MASA) 2024, which took place on June 15. * South Korea and the US conducted a joint logistics capacity-building exercise from June 24-29, with the participation of about 2,000 soldiers from both countries.

The exercise aimed to train South Korean soldiers on procedures for distributing supplies, personnel and equipment to combat units, mobilizing about 500 pieces of equipment, including tanks, aircraft, warships and civilian cargo ships.

The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in exchanging diplomatic intelligence analysis. (Yonhap)

* South Korea reacts strongly to Russia-North Korea cooperation: South Korea warned that "any action" that helps North Korea strengthen its military capabilities is a violation of UN Security Council resolutions, and called on the international community to have a "stern" unified response to such actions.

Meanwhile, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol condemned North Korea's continued launch of balloons containing waste into South Korea and described military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow as going against the course of history.

In Yoon Suk Yeol's first public remarks on the newly signed Russia-North Korea agreement, the leader declared that the South Korean military "will maintain strong combat readiness" to ensure it will not be challenged under any circumstances.

Regarding the Russia-North Korea agreement, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that Moscow hopes Seoul will calmly accept the agreement. (Yonhap)

* Italy will conduct military exercises with Japan and Australia this year , using Lockheed Martin F-35 aircraft and the aircraft carrier "Cavour".

* Iran determined to "look East": Iran's Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani stated that Tehran considers organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group of emerging economies as means to counter Western dominance and the unipolar world system.

* EU imposes additional sanctions on Hamas and Israeli settlers: EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the bloc had reached a political agreement on further sanctions, but gave no further details. (AFP)

* The US does not want civilians to die in the Ukraine conflict , according to Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder.

Commenting on the Russian attack in Sevastopol, Mr. Ryder emphasized: "Ukraine makes its own decisions about operations and targeting. We do not have any information to indicate whether civilians were killed or not. That is something we will talk to the Ukrainians about."

On June 23, the Ukrainian military attacked civilian infrastructure in Sevastopol with ATACMS missiles carrying cluster munitions, killing four civilians, including two children, and injuring more than 150 others. (TASS)
