On March 23, speaking on national television after the attack at the Crocus City Hall theater in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that March 24 would be a national day of mourning to commemorate the victims of this bloody terrorist attack.
According to Russia's TASS news agency, the new update report of the Russian Investigative Committee said the number of victims is now 133. Previously, RT news agency reported 143 deaths.
On the same day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russian special services and law enforcement agencies were investigating the attack and that the perpetrators would be brought to justice. She stressed that Russia “supports all efforts to combat international terrorism and condemns it in all its forms and manifestations, wherever terrorist acts are committed.”
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry official, the deliberate killing of civilians to achieve any goals is unacceptable. The fight against this evil must remain the focus of all the sane forces of the international community.
On the evening of March 22, several gunmen carried out an attack at the Crocus City Hall theater near Moscow. According to the Russian Ministry of Health, in addition to those killed, 147 people were injured. Security agencies have arrested 11 people involved, including four direct suspects.
