Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to make foreign trips this fall, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on August 28.
“It is planned for the fall. We will announce it at the right time,” Peskov said at a regular press conference. “For obvious reasons, we do not want to announce this in advance,” Peskov added.
Peskov also reaffirmed that a meeting between President Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take place in the near future. The Kremlin representative did not comment on the possibility of Erdogan visiting Russia, "because there are certain agreements on the date of announcement and we intend to adhere to these agreements."
Presidents Putin and Erdogan agreed to meet during a phone call on August 2. Mr. Peskov noted that the two presidents will discuss the Ukraine conflict and the extension of the grain deal.
TASS quoted a source as saying that the two Presidents could meet on September 4. Turkey's Yeni Safak newspaper said President Erdogan intends to travel to Russia to hold talks with Mr. Putin.
