The White House said US President Joe Biden on June 24 had a series of urgent discussions with the leaders of France, Germany and the United Kingdom regarding the Wagner Group mercenaries advancing towards Moscow after seizing a southern Russian city overnight.
"The leaders discussed the situation in Russia. They also affirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine," the White House said.
According to information from the White House, President Biden has been briefed by national security officials on the ongoing situation in Russia and said the President will be continuously reported on the situation throughout the day.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also had a phone call with his counterparts from the Group of Seven (G7) leading industrialized nations about the Russia-Ukraine situation and the Wagner mercenary force.
Also on June 24, a Turkish diplomatic source revealed that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a phone call with Mr. Blinken and discussed developments in Russia.
